With the legal trouble behind them, Daniel Caplin and Rafael Argon are ready to settle into a low-key D/s relationship, but life is unrelenting, when blackmail shatters their illusion of happily ever after. Pictures from one of the Rafael’s public scenes instill fear into his new submissive, Daniel, acting as a wedge driving the new couple apart.
The building peril in George’s community weighs heavy on his shoulders as he struggles to find the culprit—all while hiding his feelings for his new house guest. Jesse is torn between ending his marriage, picking up a rebound he should have left fifteen years in the past, and the dangling carrot of a possible relationship with a man. He is forced to fight for what he wants most, a leap he may be too chicken to take.
In the sequel to Legally Bound, George battles to take down an unknown enemy, while watching helplessly as those he cares for are broken beyond repair. Can Rafael and Daniel rebuild their trust after it's broken with lies? Can George hold it together as Jesse is ripped from his life?

Liza’s Review

This book continues on from book one, Legally Bound. In this one we see more of Rafael and Daniel - gosh will those two ever stop having problems and, just as I had hoped, there is more about Jessie. Jessie is Daniel's friend, another lawyer and married to a woman that makes his life a misery. Rafael's boss George has a real thing for Jessie, but he is not, surprisingly enough, the only person in Jessie's life. It seems Jessie did have another relationship of sorts going, and still has feelings for the lady, Kennedy. Fortunately, despite his situation, Jessie still has his sense of humor.

"That's how they get you! It feels so good, let me try my fingers...then next thing you know you have a twelve inch cock in your ass!"

Rafael and Daniel's problem stem from someone blackmailing them. Oh, it causes problems for George too because anyone threatening the closed nature of the BDSM lifestyle has negative ramifications, but for Rafael and Daniel it is more personal. When Daniel does a runner it is clear the two men still have trust issues to deal with.

In the meantime Jessie is all sorts of mixed up. He has his ex-wife who wants him back for appearances sake, and whose father is the one causing the blackmail problems, they think. He has Kennedy who wants more than he is prepared to give, and he has George, who wants him, but who won't be a pushover and has specific needs of his own.

I enjoyed this book so much more than the last one. There was a lot more feeling, although just as many problems. George's relationship with his slaves was fascinating, as was George himself. Elliot was a complex character and hard to read. I would have liked to have known more about him, felt I should have done, but didn't. Cill was absolutely horrible in every way and did nothing at all for females anywhere. I did feel that Jessie "felt a little like a woman" a few too many times - there is nothing wrong with sitting on a man's lap. But that was a minor niggle. Overall this was a roller coaster of a book and I was left wanting so much more.

Favorite Line: No one wants to fight through a jungle to find your dick...
