We are thrilled to welcome Annabeth Albert to Sinfully today as she celebrates the release of her new book Trust with a Chaser. Go check it out!

Thank you so much for having me today! I’m so excited for the release of TRUST WITH A CHASER, my May/Dec romance between a hot cop and a younger bar owner out for redemption. As long-time readers know, every book of mine gets a playlist, and this one was no different. However, the age difference between my heroes proved challenging from a musical standpoint. Also, this is a small-town romance set on the Oregon Coast, which can be quite rural. However, modern country wasn’t quite the right vibe here. But as always, I trusted my heroes to lead me to the right songs, and in this case, Nash led me straight to some classic country while Mason brought in more beachy tunes.

You can see my full playlist on Spotify, but I thought it would be fun to talk about a few of my favorite tunes and what they mean to the story. Full playlist:

· “A Little More Country Than That,” Easton Corbin. This was the first song I added to the playlist because this is so Nash—he’s an old-fashioned man in a new-fangled world, with traditional manners and solid values. And when he loves, he loves deeply and completely.

· “Always on My Mind,” Willie Nelson. This is another Nash song. He’s having trouble coming to terms with his feelings for Mason, but he can’t get him out of his thoughts.

· “I’m a Survivor,” Reba McEntire. Mason was a little more difficult to find a theme song for, but this old Reba tune was the first one I found that really spoke to him. He’s resilient, and he’s made it through a lot of challenges in life already.

· “Just a Kiss,” Lady Antebellum. Every first kiss I write is special, and this one is one of my all-time favorites. I LOVED their first kiss, and this song really captures the mood.

· “Come Over,” Kenny Chesney and “We’ve got Tonight,” Kenny Rogers. When Mason and Nash fall into a secret relationship, their feelings get all tangled up, more so with each hookup, until they need each other far more than they ever intended.

· “The Last Word is Lonesome,” Sammi Smith. Every book needs a black moment, and this one was no exception. And when Nash hurts, he broods alone. This song was perfect for his sad phase, right before he makes the necessary personal growth to ensure his HEA.

· “When You Say Nothing at All,” Keith Whitley. There are many great versions of this song, but this one really spoke to me about the depth of Mason and Nash’s feelings for each other.

Thank you so much for the chance to stop by! I hope you check out TRUST WITH A CHASER. Remember, I’m always looking for new earworms for future stories!

One hot cop. One bar owner out for redemption. One smoking-hot summer fling destined to leave scorch marks…

Mason Hanks has returned to Rainbow Cove, Oregon with one goal in mind: turn the struggling coastal community into a thriving LGBTQ tourism destination. Step one is transforming an old bar and grill into a gay-friendly eatery. Step two? Don’t piss off Nash Flint, the very hot, very stern chief of police who’s not so sure he’s on board with Mason’s big plans.

Nash Flint just wants to keep his community safe and enjoy the occasional burger in peace. He’s not big on change nor is he a fan of Mason’s troublemaking family, especially his rowdy older brothers. But Mason slowly wins him over with fantastic cooking and the sort of friendship Nash has been starving for.

When their unlikely friendship takes a turn for the sexy, both men try to steer clear of trouble. Nash believes he’s too set in his ways for Mason, and Mason worries that his family’s reputation will ruin any future with Nash. Burning up the sheets in secret is a surefire way to crash and burn, and discovery forces a heart-wrenching decision—is love worth the risk of losing everything?

Trust with a Chaser is a 75,000 word stand-alone gay romance with a May/December theme, a hot law-enforcement hero, opposites attract, plenty of sexy times, and one hard-fought, guaranteed happy ending with no cliffhangers.
