It’s not how big the power, it’s how you use it.
Mitchell’s tired of one night stands and casual encounters.
Sammi is a runaway sex slave who’ll do anything to stay free.
When they meet in a bar, Mitchell can’t believe his luck. Sammi is sex on two legs and seems to know just what Mitchell wants from a lover. But Sammi’s owner Donovan isn’t going to let him go so easily. He’s prepared to destroy anyone who stands in his way to get back his prized slave.
Is the bond between Mitchell and Sammi strong enough to stand up against the damage Donovan inflicts on their lives, or will it shatter?
Reader Advisory: This book deals with the sex slave industry and people who are held against their will.
Publisher's Note: This book has previously been released elsewhere. It has been revised and re-edited for re-release with Pride Publishing.
This is a delightful book. It’s a very sweet romance, with a hint – well more than a hint – of danger and a paranormal twist that’s played down to just the right degree.
The characters are complex and well rounded. I was rooting for them at all times, especially Sammi, who I absolutely adored. He thinks he’s weak because Donovan has beaten him down until he is a slave in all ways – except he’s a slave who still retained just enough freedom to run when the chance arose.
Sammi is sexy, sweet and suffering, a combination that makes him irresistible – to readers as well as to Mitchell. As people keep putting it – he’s sex and trouble. Surely, trouble follows him everywhere.
Mitchell, on the other hand is staid and slightly boring He works in an office and his biggest problem is that his boss might be somewhat homophobic. At least, that is, until Sammi arrives and soon he’s behaving inappropriately at his desk and being threatened by hired guns in the lobby. So much for a peaceful life
It really is difficult to find anything to complain about. The editing is flawless, the story is consistent, well rounded and gripping, the story arcs are coherent and complete and the characters are perfect. I’m not always comfortable gushing over a book, especially one like this which not quite what I would normally read, but I don’t really have much choice here. I honestly can’t think of anything to criticize.
If you want a book that is first and foremost a sweet romance, with some danger and just a pinch of supernatural sprinkled over like cinnamon on a chai latte then this is most definitely for you. If you’re a hardcore paranormal fan though there probably won’t be enough for you.
