Synopsis

Book 3 in the Alien Slave Masters series

When a distant planet’s ownership is in dispute, conquering aliens turn defiant human males into pampered sex slaves.

Stuart McKay, a young man always on the sidelines of life, has been reinvented as Mac, the beloved pet of an alien navigator. At first an unwilling captive, he’s now fallen hopelessly in love with his master. Narith is Mac’s perfect fantasy lover, so much so that Mac does not hesitate to join him on a frightening trip to the Travian home world.

Narith is a brilliant young officer from a lower caste family who has risen quickly up the ranks. He’s also climbed the social ladder by making an advantageous mating. A tragedy has him hurrying home to mend familial fences and fend off the predation of another male. All the while, he tries to tamp down his growing feelings for Mac, yet cannot bear to leave his pet behind.

Mac and Narith’s relationship is tested by family tensions and brought to the breaking point when Narith reluctantly agrees to share Mac with another male. Mac is devastated by Narith’s seemingly cavalier treatment, while Narith is surprised to realize he’s jealous of another male claiming Mac’s body. But more than personal feelings seethe beneath the veneer of domestic harmony and, as trouble bubbles to the surface, the fate of Mac’s and Narith’s very lives is at stake.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of non-consensual rape and sex scenes with dubious consent, as well as some brief violence. and torture. This book also contains a scene of M/F intimacy.

Macky’s  Review

Book three of the Alien Slave Masters series and once again time to "boldly go where no one has gone before" with Samantha Cayto's enigmatic Travians, who are worthy of any episode Gene Roddenberry might have dreamed up if Kirk and Spock had been more than friends, "What is love Captain?" had been uttered by a studly alpha male alien, and Star Trek had been X rated! Lol....

Since reading The Captains Pet, which I absolutely loved, I've looked forward to gentle Stuart's tale. Now renamed Mac his story is slightly different to Wid and Joels in so much as this book starts with him already in love―and very much in lust―with his second master Narith (the first one turned out to be a cruel, traitorous SOB), who in his own way does cherish his sweet submissive pet, so for once sex between them is consensual, passionate and frequent, with Mac blossoming physically and mentally under his care. All good on the face of things, but when Narith is called back to the Travian home world by his higher caste female mate, once again our spunky human pet is thrust into yet another non con sexual scenario that tests their settled relationship to its limits, and finally brings home to Narith just how much Mac really means to him.

What I do love about this series are the Travians and the actual world building, which is imaginative and three dimensional. The caste hierarchy and matriarchal society that Samantha Cayto has invented gives a lot of insight into the superior and at times callous behaviour of her alien culture and because of that, the well fleshed out characters and erotic storylines have grabbed me and I've rooted for each couple to reach their HEA's which, because of the Travians mating system, might not be our idea of a predictable future for these guys but is no less satisfying because of it and I like that little twist.

The Untamed Pet itself started well. The premise was good and I got to know more about how the Travians tick, but as the story began to get into its stride I personally started to feel that it wasn't quite matching up to the excitement of its two predecessors.

Each story has followed a very similar theme but everything that made the first two such attention grabbers just didn't feel as dynamic to me this time around. The villains seemed tamer than past bad guys and the conflict facing Mac and Narith was plotted well enough but somehow lacked the intensity of the series previous storylines, so ultimately I did come away a little underwhelmed and a wee bit disappointed that it hadn't pulled me in as much as I'd hoped. But, on the up side, I did feel the chemistry with Mac and Narith, who you can't help liking and the epilogue was surprisingly sweet and romantic. Admittedly I had a little sigh moment and it did put a smile on my face.

So…Wid, Joel and Mac are all paired up and happy with their alien lovers and I'm left wondering if this is actually the end of the series? To be honest if not then I think it needs changing up a bit, as in terms of storyline and overall impact it’s beginning to feel a wee bit repetitive now. But saying all that, the intriguing alien race Samantha Cayto has created is really too good to shelve completely so if Ms Cayto does decide to journey into deep space again I'd be happy to jump on board for at least one more trip to her sexy Sci-Fi universe. If not I’ll definitely be revisiting these guys again when I fancy a Travian hit!
