Dante "D" Vargas is home in Miami, to stay. He has a job he likes as the new head of bonds and bounty for Mack's Security and after six years of making a mess with Trevor Mackentire, he's ready—he thinks they're both ready—for them to stop playing around and figure out if what they have is real. But Trevor is his boss's son and his best friend's younger brother so it's not as easy as taking what he wants.
Especially when he also has to convince Trevor he's over being afraid of his feelings and not everything is what it seems.
Finally healthy and whole again after the effects of a major car accident, Trevor's tired of being treated like a child by everyone he loves. He's been handling his own for a long time. But he's lonely. Trevor knows he shouldn't keep setting himself up to be hurt by D's hot-and-cold routine, but he's cared for the man for what feels like forever, and lusted for him even longer.
Yeah, they set each other on fire, but old fears, old wounds, and being stuck in a game of push and pull makes it feel impossible to get it together. Maybe they should just leave well enough alone.
It'd be easier if every meeting, every taste didn't leave them wanting more.
Want is the latest contemporary MM romance by author Kade Boehme. I am a big fan of this author and have really come to enjoy his tales of romance and his unique style of writing. This particular story was the perfect balance of sweetness, a little angst and piping hot sexy times.
Trevor Mackentire’s life certainly took an unexpected turn when a serious accident caused very severe injuries that have taken some time to heal. Now, at twenty-five years of age, Trevor finally feels like he is independently making his way and proving to his over-protective family that he can take care of himself even if they still feel the need to treat him with kid gloves. Trevor’s life may be a little lonely but it is uncomplicated. The last thing he is prepared for is once again coming face to face with the only man that gets under his skin. A man that unashamedly flirts with him leaving him flustered and all hot and bothered. Now that is certainly a complication!
Trevor first meets Dante Vargas when he is sixteen and immediately began crushing on the older, sexy guy. He’s his older brother’s best friend so Dante became a somewhat permanent fixture in his life, an untouchable one that he admired from afar. Dante never really let his guard down around Trevor. Not until one night when Trevor is nineteen. The pair share an unforgettable night that changes the dynamic of their relationship. But Dante leaves for Boston shortly thereafter leaving Trevor confused and hurt.
Dante is now back permanently and is finally willing to risk it all and go after what he wants. What he wants is Trevor. Yes, there is the fact that his best friend is Trevor’s brother and that he works for the Mackentire family business; however, after all the years that have passed he can’t seem to shake Trevor. He’s somehow etched his way onto his heart and soul. Can our two protagonists push past the hurt and the miscommunication and take the chance they have both dreamed about? Are they brave enough to go after what they want?
This book was definitely a sexy little number. Mr. Boehme can most definitely write an amazingly HAWT sex scene. And, while this tale did have its share of raw and dirty times, it was also an emotional tale about two men who finally are in a position to go after what they have only dreamed of. As their profound connection becomes deeper, they both have to learn to be vulnerable and completely open up to one another. There are so many layers that need to be delved into and shed before they can even attempt a lasting relationship. Finding their way may not have been an easy venture for either one of them; however, Dante and Trevor discover that what matters in life is often what we have to fight the hardest to obtain.
All in all, Want is definitely a romantic and sexy tale that I thoroughly enjoyed! Definitely a recommended read!!!!
