Fearless by Nicole Edwards
He’s the one who walked away...
Dare Davis, one of the four owners of Pier 70 Marina, has been living the past fifteen years of his life not taking risks. He considers himself fearless because he refuses to let anyone close enough to hurt him. He’s had his heart broken before, he’s not looking for it to happen again.
He’s the one who let love slip through his fingers...
Noah Pearson, thirteen-year veteran of the Austin Fire Department, finds himself being roped into a favor by his mischievous stepsister. When Milly invites him to come along on a cruise to the Caribbean, he finds himself giving in. What he doesn’t know is that Milly’s playing matchmaker. However, Milly’s surprise backfires when Noah finds himself front and center with the man who slipped through his fingers fifteen years ago.
Some people believe in second chances.
Things heat up when the mischievous, fun-loving bad boy comes face to face with this smoking hot fire fighter.
Now that Dare and Noah find themselves sharing a room on a week-long cruise, can they find a way to keep the peace and ignore their past? Or – thanks to the decisions they made long ago – will they come full circle, picking right back up where they left off?
Lisa: Fearless is the second book in Nicole Edwards’ MM series entitled Pier 70. In this series were are introduced to the men who own and operate Pier 70 – Cam Strickland (featured in book one), Roan Gregory, Dare Davis, and Teague Carter. I fall wholeheartedly in love with anything Ms. Edwards writes and if you know anything about her books you know that she tends to write about copious amounts of sexual variations (MF/MFM/MM, etc.) and you also know that her books are HOT AS FUCK as we watch each of the characters Ms. Edwards creates succumb to passion and love. I am certainly a huge fan and love the fact that this is her first entirely MM series! I love getting wrapped up in a sexy romance with enough emotional turmoil to fulfill any angst lover. This book definitely fit the bill as we watch two old sweethearts clumsily forge their way to a second chance at love.
All in all, Fearless is a wonderful addition to this series that I am now absolutely hooked on. I loved getting a glimpse into the lives of the four friends and I truly enjoyed catching up with Cam and Gannon (featured in book one). We also get some other POVs in this one and I loved that! I am really hoping the next book is about Teague and Hudson!

In The Privacy of Their Home by R.A. Padmos
Dylan’s life is regulated and precise, and as a gay man in the England of the 1960s it’s also necessarily secretive; the law regarding homosexuality may have changed, but unfortunately society’s attitudes are slow to catch up. Meeting Max – younger and less inhibited – is a shock to Dylan’s system; suddenly his world, which has been black and white, explodes into vivid colour. But loving Max is not without difficulty; Max is an artist, talented and ambitious, and there’s no way someone as ordinary as Dylan can hold on to him for long … or is there?
Mark: I had a few great books in April and I must admit the choice was an extremely difficult one. However, my April Hotpick is In The Privacy of Their Home by R.A. Padmos because this book rocked my world in so few pages and one of the most pleasant surprises being a new author to me. LOVED IT!!
A book that will make you feel sad and happy all at the same time. It doesn't take very long to read but there is so much wonderful writing and emotion all crafted together in 123 pages it took my breath away and left me thinking about the story for days after. If a book gets me thinking about it days after I have read it then from me it deserves the highest accolades I can give. Ms Padmos has a writing talent that struck every chord with me. A real wordsmith who crafts every subtle feeling, emotion and situation with an belletristic empathy that is a rare find. With this one book she has gone straight on my list of favourite authors and I will be reading more from her for sure if this book is a sign of her other works. With this book she awoke so many emotions in me, made me feel real despair, happiness, passion and concern for each and every single character in this book. But the most for Dylan, Max and their story. READ IT!

Absolution (The Protectors #1) by Sloane Kennedy
But what I felt most was the perfection of what these two men were giving me. And I knew in that moment that I would do anything to keep it. Anything. –Cole. After four years abroad, artist Jonas Davenport has come home to start building his dream of owning his own art studio and gallery. But just as he's ready to put the darkness of his past behind him forever, it comes roaring back with a vengeance.
The only thing keeping ex-cop Mace Calhoun from eating his own gun after an unthinkable loss is his role in an underground syndicate that seeks to get justice for the innocent by taking the lives of the guilty. Ending the life of the young artist who committed unspeakable crimes against the most vulnerable of victims should have been the easiest thing in the world. So why can't he bring himself to pull the trigger?
After years of fighting in an endless, soul-sucking war, Navy SEAL Cole Bridgerton has come home to fight another battle - dealing with the discovery that the younger sister who ran away from home eight years earlier is lost to him forever. He needs answers and the only person who can give them to him is a young man struggling to put his life back together. But he never expected to feel something more for the haunted artist.
Cole and Mace. One lives by the rules, the other makes his own. One seeks justice through the law while the other seeks it with his gun. Two men, one light, one dark, will find themselves and each other when they're forced to stand side by side to protect Jonas from an unseen evil that will stop at nothing to silence the young artist forever.
But each man's scars run deep and even the strength of three may not be enough to save them...
Note: This book contains M/M/M sexual content and is intended for mature audiences.
Trigger Warning: This book contains references to childhood sexual abuse.
***This is Book 1 in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone story - no cliffhangers.***
Debra: This was my first Sloane Kennedy book and it really took me by surprise. I love m/m/m and am always looking for something a bit different and this one ticked all my boxes. Three very different men, a fast moving story, with drama, action, plot twists, and lots of sexual tension kept me reading straight through.
Guilt, murder, revenge and a quest for answers bring Jonas, Mace and Cole together into a crazy situation. When they are forced to run for their lives the new relationships between the three men are put to the test as the sexual tension ratchets up. It also forces them to quickly learn to trust and open up. All of them have painful pasts and are seeking absolution for perceived failures. I loved the way the men’s pasts wove together and the dynamic the triad shared. There is a good hurt/comfort storyline with scorching sex scenes and the somewhat over the top situation allowed the relationship to move quickly. I was completely taken in by this story and will be snatching up the next one in the series.

Sweet William by Diane Hartsock
William Wilkerson leads the life of the privileged rich. Head of his father’s shipping business, he indulges to his heart’s content in the pleasures of the flesh with Boston’s finest young men.
That is, until he reunites with Fredrick: his former tutor and the one man who captured his heart.
But William’s father has declared Fredrick off limits. And Fredrick, himself, believes he's beneath the attention of the Wilkerson heir.
After having lost his current pupil to graduation, and with no prospects of a replacement, Frederick is homeless, hungry, and easy pickings for the men on the docks.
When Frederick is shanghaied into service on William’s own merchant ship, will William discover his plight in time to rescue him?
Freya: I’ve read quite a few things this month but nothing grabbed my attention quite like this darling of a story by Diane Hartsock. It’s a novella. You’ll easily read it in an afternoon or evening, but by heavens you’ll have a little adventure. It’s a diamond, small, but a gem.
I love a variety of genres and a good period drama always tickles my fancy. In this, the young William decides to show his peers that he is more than his family’s title. He proves that he is an admirable young man who isn’t afraid to stand up for what he wants. Frederick is the handsome tutor who believes William is beyond his dreams and station in life – totally adorable.
Diane provides admirable scenery and I could picture every character and hear them speak. Emotions tend to rule my star ratings and this one had my heart melting and pumping in a short space of time. Bravo.

A Gentleman's Position (Society of Gentlemen #3)
by K.J. Charles
Power, privilege, and the rigid rules of class leave two hearts yearning for connection in the sizzling new Society of Gentlemen novel from K. J. Charles.
Among his eccentric though strictly principled group of friends, Lord Richard Vane is the confidant on whom everyone depends for advice, moral rectitude, and discreet assistance. Yet when Richard has a problem, he turns to his valet, a fixer of unparalleled genius—and the object of Richard’s deepest desires. If there is one rule a gentleman must follow, it is never to dally with servants. But when David is close enough to touch, the rules of class collide with the basest sort of animal instinct: overpowering lust.
For David Cyprian, burglary and blackmail are as much in a day’s work as bootblacking—anything for the man he’s devoted to. But the one thing he wants for himself is the one thing Richard refuses to give: his heart. With the tension between them growing to be unbearable, David’s seemingly incorruptible master has left him no choice. Putting his finely honed skills of seduction and manipulation to good use, he will convince Richard to forget all about his well-meaning objections and give in to sweet, sinful temptation.
Includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title.
Sally: As usual with KJ Chales the history is spot on but not to the point where one feels as though one is being educated, there’s far too much plot and incident for that. Also character is the most important thing in the story arc. Every single plot point, every action, is derived from the fundamental character of the man performing it so even the most extravagant gestures are absolutely plausible. The conflicts are real and the dangers are deadly and when the chips are down the only man for the job is little foxy Cyprian.
Oh it’s glorious. The only downside is that the story is finished and I’m devastated about that.

The Rebellious Pet (Alien Slave Masters #2)
by Samantha Cayto
Book 2 in the Alien Slave Masters series
When a distant planet’s ownership is in dispute, conquering aliens turn defiant human males into pampered sex slaves.
Forced to be the sex slave of an alien warrior, perpetual bad boy, Joel, finds himself tossed into the bed of a space station commander who tests even Joel’s cultivated bravado. While he’d learned to survive an abusive father, the Travian master proves to be a greater challenge. Joel soon finds himself caught between the desperate need to fight his captivity and the unnerving tug of attraction he feels for his new master.
Born to one of the lower castes of his people, Arath has worked his way up to a coveted command. His drive for success has left him isolated from his crew. He has no time or interest in caring for the pesky human pet thrust upon him by his superior. His duty allows him no other choice, so he reluctantly takes what has been given to him. He is surprised by how easily he is seduced by his pet’s allure.
Joel and Arath dance around each other and their growing attraction, until politics intrude and test their tentative feelings. The stakes are suddenly raised, and the choices they make may change the course of history for both of their species.
Macky: Sometimes you come across an author who just works for you, and Samantha Cayto ticks my boxes. I really like her easy writing style, and her Alien Slave Masters series in particular has been a gem of a find for me. There's a touch of intrigue, a dash of action/adventure and some cleverly thought out world building behind each alien/human pairing, adding meat to its XXX bones, but even though its sexual content leans more towards erotica, this is actually still a romance. Just not a fluffy, hearts and flowers one!
In this episode it's the relationship between feisty, rebellious captive, Joel and his new, coolly detached Travian master, Commander Arath that holds center stage, and we learn even more about these mysterious, technologically advanced Aliens, their matriarchal based culture, uncompromising views (and treatment) of their human counterparts and complex politics; so you really do get a decent story to go with your sex! Two thoroughly enjoyable reads in and I can't wait to visit this utterly more-ish Sci Fi slave/master universe again…Beam me up Ms Cayto!

Love Me Like A Rock (Bend or Break #6)
by Amy Jo Cousins
Having grown up with artistic implements always in hand, there's almost nothing Austin can't make real. Except for one thing—an official relationship with his best friend, rowing teammate and occasional hookup, Vinnie.
The combination of emotional and sexual frustration fuels a spark between Austin and the nude model in his drawing class. Austin isn't used to having trouble focusing; models are merely challenging subjects to be rendered on paper. But the geology TA's direct blue gaze is powerful enough to drag Austin's focus away from his physique.
After a quick and very dirty post-class encounter, all the reasons that Austin has been waiting for his best friend go fuzzy in his mind. Sean is nothing like Vinnie. Sean is persistent, pays attention, and makes it clear he wants to be together.
But if Austin can't get his head and his heart on the same page, he could lose his friend, or his lover. Or both.
Warning: Contains rock geeks, tent sex, a dictatorial cox whose idea of a good time is drawing naked dudes, plus one naked dude who wants to be more than a good time.
Molly: This is the 6th book in the Bend or Break Series and one of my favorites. Austin is an artist and finds himself intrigued by the live, nude model Sean in his class. But, Austin has been in love with his roommate/best friend for as long as he can remember and can't bring himself to let go and fall in love with the guy who would treat him right. This was so good and a really sweet story, as Austin comes to realize what, or who's best for him.
I rooted for this couple the whole time, and kept hoping that Sean wouldn't give up on him. There was steamy sex and romantic times, and everything you want in a college romance. Great book and great series.

Monique’s Hot Pick
First & First by Santino Hassell
Caleb Stone was raised on the Upper East Side, where wealth and lineage reigns, and “alternative lifestyles” are hidden. It took him years to come out to his family, but he’s still stuck in the stranglehold of their expectations. Caleb knows he has to build his confidence and shake things up, but he doesn’t know how… until Oliver Buckley enters the picture.
Oli is everything Caleb isn’t—risk-taking, provocative, and fiercely independent. Disowned by his family, Oli has made his own way in the world and is beholden to no one. After a chance encounter on New Year’s Eve, Caleb is smitten.
As Caleb sheds the insecurities that have held him back for years, he makes bold steps toward changing his career and escaping years of sexual repression. But for Caleb to take full control of his life, he has to be brave enough to confront his feelings and trust Oli with his heart.
Monique: Once again Santino Hassell has confirmed just why he is one of my favourite authors and proven his adept and outstanding ability to deliver intelligent versatile writing, with sympathetic characters that will melt even the most hardened of hearts. He has such an effortless style of writing that is music to my ears, I wouldn’t call it poetic or lyrical, more profound, with a depth that definitely hits that spot for me in more ways than one. A connection that is comfortable and familiar. From the first page he always manages to draw me in with ease, assured and confident that the journey I am about to embark on will be one I’m not likely to forget in a hurry. First and First is yet another example of Santino’s talent. It’s not the raw and gritty tale we have become accustomed to so far in this series, in fact it’s really quite angst-less for Santino. With Caleb and Oli both from the upper echelons of NYC society, being gay comes with a whole different set of problems for these two blue bloods of the city.
This is an excellent addition to the Five Boroughs series which is fast becoming an all-time favourite. A comprehensive character study that will leave your heart aching, sex scenes that whilst hot and sexy are integral to the growth of the characters, and dirty talk guaranteed to reach the parts other authors can’t.
First and First will leave you riding a high better than any drug, which will hopefully keep us going until the release of book #4 in this wonderfully penned, voyeuristic insight into the diverse melting pot that is New York City.
