Charlie Cochet’s Men & Mischief Monthly Author Column… Cover Reveal for THIRDS Beyond the Books: Volume 1

Charlie M & M

Hello all! Thank you so much for joining me today for another installment of Men & Mischief. I’m super excited to be sharing with you the cover to

THIRDS Beyond the Books: Volume 1

which is releasing June 8th.

What exactly is THIRDS Beyond the Books?

FF_Divider_Pink

Not long after the release of Hell & High Water in 2014, I decided I wanted to do a little more for the THIRDS fans. Something fun and entertaining that would also help ease the wait between THIRDS book releases, so I started THIRDS Thursdays. Every Thursday (except for the month of a THIRDS book release) I post flash fiction stories written to prompts submitted by readers. I pick one at random, and write a flash fiction story which can be anywhere from 500 words to over 4k. The only rule is that the prompts need to fall in line with the current release story timeline.

I’ve had such an amazing time writing these little stories involving all the different THIRDS characters. Through these stories, readers get to explore their favorite characters and their lives, along with events that they don’t get to read in the books. We get to see some of the guys during their childhoods, explore events mentioned in the books, and delve even deeper into their characters. We get to see scenes from POVs we don’t get in the books.

After some time, readers were asking if the stories would ever be released in eBook form. I looked into it and realized we had enough stories for two 45k novellas! I loved the idea of having THIRDS Thursday eBooks with all the stories together. After speaking to my publisher, Dreamspinner Press, we realized that in order to make the books available for download from third party sites such as Amazon and All Romance eBooks, we would have to add a price point. So we selected a low price point, and I decided my royalties from these eBooks would be donated to Big Cat Rescue, a big cat sanctuary in Tampa, Florida.

Each book will also feature a new, previously unpublished THIRDS Thursday flash fiction story. If you haven’t read the THIRDS series, there are a few stories in volume 1 that relate to events that take place in books 1, 2, 3, and 4. The book will likely go up for pre-order a month before release, but I'll be sure to post about it on my blog.

Of course our eBooks needed covers, and I was just over the moon when I learned L.C. Chase would be doing the covers for these. L.C. is awesome. I give her a general idea of what I kinda want (because sometimes I have no idea), and she makes it happen in spectacular fashion. I was at the DSP workshop when she told me she was working on it, and when she showed me, there was a lot of internal screaming. I was so in love with it.

So, coming June 8th

THIRDS Beyond the Book: Volume 1

and here is the fabulous cover by L.C. Chase

  16. This is such a wonderful and generous idea! I will definitely be purchasing copies of each volume.

And the cover is fantastic - the rainbow gummy bears contrasted with the blacks and greys of the vest and background. Perfect, I think, for the THIRDS world.

  21. I started reading the Thirds series sort of backwards: finding Charlie through a Goodreads pal, following her blog and LOVING the Thirds Thursdays posts. I then followed her newsletter and lastly got the paperback of Hell&High Water to begin actually reading the series. This is my first foray into the genre of M/M, and I truly enjoy Ms. Cochet's writing style. It helps immensely that she's such an awesome person in real life, who truly interacts with her readers on a friendly, down-to-earth level. Can't wait to read her other books, and especially the collection of Thirds Thursdays stories.
