Synopsis

At fifteen, Troy and Liam were fostered by the same family, and although they hated each other at first, they gradually became solid friends. As adults, the two foster brothers live together. Both experience tough times, each being a rock for the other, but their love had never been anything other than brotherly.

Until they both fall for the same guy, and things get... complicated.

Dalton is fresh out of a ten year marriage. Feeling lost, he concentrates on the only thing he can control—his body. Developing from a chubby, unfit police officer into a lean, mean inked one, Dalton has never looked better, but inside, he's never felt worse. A relationship is far from his thoughts, and one with another man makes Dalton even more confused. He takes time to get to know Troy and Liam separately, but Manchester isn’t that big, and sparks fly when fate throws the three together.

Together, these three fight it out between them. Both Troy and Liam demand Dalton choose between them, but what if he didn't have to choose? What if it could work between three?

The things in life we fight for are never the easiest, but they’re the ones worth holding onto forever.

Debra’s Quick Bite

I’m always on the lookout for something different than an established couple taking on a third in an m/m/m story and this one fit the bill very nicely.  Dalton is restarting his life, finally being true to himself and coming out.  He meets Liam who is more than willing to help him discover the joys of gay sex without the complications of a relationship, until Liam starts to fall for Dalton.  After a while as friends with benefits, Dalton meets Troy and instantly connects with him.  With the possibility of a relationship with Troy, Dalton ends things with Liam only to soon find out that Liam and Troy grew up as foster brothers and have lived together since they were fifteen, a relationship that has led to the failure of all their others.  Neither would ever do anything to hurt the other, but both men want Dalton and they want him to choose.

I loved how we were basically given three separate relationships before the men all got together.  There was plenty of tension and I really just wanted everyone to be happy.  The build up worked really well for me and the sex scenes, in all the variations were hot.  It works as a standalone but if you’ve read Saving Samuel, there are peeks of the men from that story as well.

Synopsis

Jonah Woolner's life is as prudently regulated as the bank where he works. It's a satisfying life until he's passed over for promotion in favor of newcomer Reid Hylliard. Brash and enterprising, Reid beguiles everyone except Jonah, who's convinced Reid's progressive ideas will be the bank's ruin. When Jonah begins to discover there's more to Reid than meets the eye, he risks succumbing to Reid's charms-but unlocking the vault to all of Reid's secrets could lead him down a dangerous path.

Losing his promotion-and perhaps his heart-is the least of Jonah's difficulties. When the vengeful son of a Union army vet descends upon the bank to steal a government deposit of half a million dollars during the deadliest blizzard to ever sweep New York, Jonah and Reid are trapped, at odds and fighting for their lives.

Sally’s Quick Bite

Losing his promotion-and perhaps his heart-is the least of Jonah's difficulties. When the vengeful son of a Union army vet descends upon the bank to steal a government deposit of half a million dollars during the deadliest blizzard to ever sweep New York, Jonah and Reid are trapped, at odds and fighting for their lives.

One of the most satisfying long historicals I have ever read. Everything in this book  – dresscodes, manners, living quarters, districts, class divisions – combines to make a plot that is precisely located in a very specific moment in time with a luscious attention to detail that is just a joy to read. First and foremost the plot is about two very different characters overcoming their differences and pooling their resources to defeat threats both human and natural. That when the chips are really down Jonah and Reid are able to derive strength to carry on from the depth of their relationship is another joy of the book but please bear in mind that their relationship is phrased in such a way that anyone who wants a one handed read had better look elsewhere. An intensely, and deliciously, emotional story without being overblown or angsty – a harder trick to pull off than one might think.

Synopsis

The wrong secret could flush their love down the drain.

The Plumber’s Mate, Book 3

It’s been six months since plumber Tom Paretski was hit with a shocking revelation about his family. His lover, P.I. Phil Morrison, is pushing this as an ideal opportunity for Tom to try to develop his psychic talent for finding things. Tom would prefer to avoid the subject altogether, but just as he decides to bite the bullet, worse problems come crawling out of the woodwork.

Marianne, a young barmaid at the Devil’s Dyke pub, has an ex who won’t accept things are over between them. Grant Carey is ruthless in dealing with anyone who gets between him and Marianne, including an old friend of Tom and Phil. Their eagerness to step in and help only makes them targets of Grant’s wrath themselves.

With Tom’s uncertainty about Phil’s motives, Tom’s family doing their best to drive a wedge between them, and the revelation of an ugly incident in Phil’s past, suddenly Tom’s not sure whom he can trust.

The body in the Dyke’s cellar isn’t the only thing that stinks.

Warning: Contains British slang, a very un-British heat wave, and a plumber with a psychic gift who may not be as British as he thinks he is.

Mark’s Quick Bite

It’s no secret that I absolutely adore this series and I’m still waiting for book four as business was left somewhat undone in book three. Nevertheless, it’s my Quick Bite for this week as I just loved. Tom has done it again in this book and his spidey senses of finding lost things is back and this leads him to the next corpse. However, Phil is now a private detective that gets called on a case through a mutual friend Harry who is owner and Landlady of the pub The Devil’s Dyke. Harry has called Phil in to investigate her friends ex, Grant Carey, who is an objectionable character to say the least.

As always a super psychic murder-mystery and the dynamics between  Tom and Phil are the best. If you haven’t started this series yet then you have truly missed out on three fantastic reads.

Synopsis

“I am his guardian angel. I don’t know who he is. I know every line of his face—the curve of his lips is carved in my soul—but I don’t know his name. I always called him just Prince.”

Tasked to watch over a young man in suspended animation, Phae, a clone, spends his life alone on an empty spaceship, focused only on the protection of his ward. Prince isn’t scheduled to wake for another twenty years, but an attack on the ship starts the automatic awakening procedure. Prince relieves Phae’s loneliness and teaches him the meaning of love. However, the mission becomes more complicated than either man was led to believe—and far more dangerous. Their destination is a world held hostage, where clones are disposable and Phae is scheduled for “recycling” when his duty is done.

Macky’s Quick Bite

This Sci Fi novella was a real surprise, in a very good way. Beautifully written and vulnerably 'voiced' by nineteen year old Phaedrus; it's  endearingly, poignant MC, the whole story REALLY got to me emotionally as I journeyed alongside poor isolated Phae. For ten years he'd been completely alone on the now derelict spaceship "Bright Star" guarding the precious cargo in stasis, until the ship finally reached its years long destination. Omg, I was brought to tears more than once! Considering this was only novella length, I came away feeling as if I'd read a wonderful, epic love story. Truly adoring Phae and Kian his 'Prince', who's space odyssey came complete with alien invasions, space politics, intrigue, mysterious artefacts, clones, and a gorgeous space opera romance that literally transcended space and time! Romantic and at times pretty sexy, I found this a lovely read and one I still remember intensely.
