Synopsis

“Is there a voyeur inside you? Or are you the one who would like an audience in the bedroom?”

Cory can’t keep a job. Flynn has a job he can no longer hide behind. A simple proposition in an effort to solve both of their problems leads two young men to confront the heartbreaks of their pasts in order to make a future together.
What starts as an innocent bit of voyeurism turns into a public display of…everything.

You know you like to watch.

Debra’s Quick Bite

No dramatics, no angst, no game playing, just a light, sexy, fun story about two men falling in love and finding a happiness neither expected.

I immediately fell in love with Flynn. He is quirky, geeky, and socially awkward, but tries so hard. Cory is a klutz, unable to keep a job and doesn't give himself enough credit. Flynn has a voyeuristic proposition for Cory that just might help them both out.  They've both had troubling relationships in the past that are still hanging over them, making each one hesitant and unsure, but when they get together there is nothing but honesty and tenderness, along with some hot, kinky, dirty talking sex. Cory and Flynn both want what is best for the other and the two of them together just made me smile.   This book was so much more than the blurb implied and I absolutely recommend it.

Synopsis

Cole Renzo thinks his greatest challenge is to behave for the remainder of his term at Halfway House. Until he meets his new boss, Ty Calloway, a man who ticks off every box on Cole’s list of interests.

A sought-after restorer and customizer of exotic and collectible cars, Ty had enough confidence to command what he wanted in life, until one fateful night changed everything. Almost two years later, he’s slowly rebuilding his life with great control. He’s defied the odds and works tirelessly to be the man he once was—but he still feels broken.

Cole’s candor and unfiltered personality awaken Ty’s barely-remembered desire to greet each new day with a smile, while Ty’s unwavering acceptance of Cole’s quirks and brash humor makes Cole feel as if he fits in for the first time in far too long. When a nemesis threatens Ty’s personal restoration and the things he holds dear, Cole is determined to protect their relationship, even if that means sacrificing everything he’s worked so hard to achieve.

But Ty will have to let his guard down, surrender control, and admit he needs Cole first, even if that puts himself at risk of breaking beyond repair.

Mark’s Quick Bite

My Quick Bite this week is the 3rd book in The Men of Halfway House series by Jaime Reese. If you haven’t made a start on this series yet then you truly have missed out on something wonderful. I read and reviewed this one with Macky and we were both left in awe and swooning over this book too.

Jaime has not only delivered us a great romance but a really interesting story and plot too. The whole thing going on with Robert and his criminal ways holding Ty over a barrel from the days when Ty’s dad ran the shop. How Cole becomes essential in getting this all sorted for Ty,  provided once more for an utterly enthralling and entertaining read. When I reflect on book one and with this third book I can really feel and see how Jaime’s writing has matured and is going from strength to strength. I story to really get your teeth into and bet carried on away with a beautiful romance.

In The Flesh by Ethan Stone

Synopsis

Reno Detective Cristian Flesh is an out and unashamed cop, but his slutty ways might be his downfall. Cristian lives by a strict set of personal rules, preferring hook-ups and anonymous encounters to committed relationships. His guidelines work for him... until one of his tricks is murdered and he becomes the prime suspect.

Leave it to handsome lawyer Colby Maddox to save Cristian’s life. He takes the case and the attraction between them is quick and undeniable. After several passion-filled encounters with Colby, Cristian unexpectedly wants to break all his rules. However, before they can contemplate a future together, they’ll have to clear Cristian’s name and find the real murderer.

Macky’s Quick Bite

It's a long time since I read this, but I do love a good tortured cop/crime/mystery story and In The Flesh was a great example and a solid read. The start of a three part series that I really enjoyed at the time, Detective Cristian Flesh was a multi layered character. An outwardly gay cop with a secretive past that hinted at a dysfunctional past and dark memories, with a multiple set of 'non breakable' rules around his pretty excessive sex life that in a roundabout way ended up leading him into a trumped up murder charge. Enter Colby Maddox, the sexy closeted lawyer hired to defend him; the first person he's prepared to break his rules for, and you get one hot, gritty, murder mystery that might not be particularly hard to fathom out but is still compelling because of it's two complex MC's. I remember the actual romance didn't happen straight away, putting the crime side of the story more up front and that was a bit different from the norm. The sex was raw and plenty, but of course I don't have any complaints there! Lol. In fact Just thinking about this now makes me want to pick it up for a re-read to see if it's still as good as I remember. Might just cuddle up in bed with it tonight.

To Clan and Conquer

(Clan Beginnings Book #1)

Synopsis

Starting a clan is not on ambitious First Officer Tranis’ agenda; he is too busy building a career in the Kalquorian fleet. It’s a good thing since the Nobek who captures his interest belongs to the captain and the Imdiko he can’t stop thinking about is not his type.

Weapons Commander Lidon feels his best days are behind him. The Imdiko he wants avoids him, and the new Dramok first officer is obviously too young to consider an older, crippled Nobek. However, an unexpected invitation makes Lidon wonder if there is something more to look forward to after all.

Head doctor Degorsk hides behind an offbeat sense of humor that shocks and keeps his fellow crewmembers at arms’ length – exactly where he wants them. But one Nobek refuses to be discouraged and the new first officer is too much temptation to deny himself.

As the trio is pulled together by attraction and pushed back apart by fear, an old enemy threatens the Kalquorian Empire. With no choice but to rely on each other for survival, Tranis, Lidon, and Degorsk are forced to expose their greatest terrors to each other…and themselves.

Liza’s Quick Bite

If you are used to a straight forward love story, then these books might throw you off a bit, but believe me they are worth reading.  In Ms St. Johns futuristic alien stories, the men of Kalquor are broken up into three casts of people and form triads that include one from each sect. There's a nice blurb at the beginning of the book which explains why, which is really handy for getting your head around this new world.

In this first book, Lidon has been sleeping with his Captain for years, but he doesn't want to clan with him.  One of the main reasons is because the Captain won't include an enticing little doctor as the third member of their team.  Not that Lidon's been having any luck with him either, but he's hopeful.  When Tranis joins the ship he is young, but full of the sort of fire Lidon had been hoping for from his captain...and let's not forget the doctor.  This might sound confusing, but it really isn't.  The author does a great job of explaining who and what everyone is.  So why not take a chance on an alien adventure - hot men, a tiny splash of BDSM but not enough to discourage, and a storyline that is brilliant. divider-grey
