Life is good for Toby and Damon—maybe too good. What happens when someone seems intent on destroying their happiness?
Toby and Damon are growing closer every day, with Toby recovering from the shot to his shoulder and Damon trying to keep him from pushing too hard too fast. Things are good between them.
They’re even better in the bedroom, where Toby is learning all sorts of new things and Damon is happily pushing his limits.
They’ve almost forgotten that someone doesn’t seem as happy with their closeness as they are, when Toby walks into his studio to find it trashed and his little apartment ransacked. Are the authorities going to be able to apprehend the culprit before Toby decides the best course of action is to remove himself from the equation?
I have already read the first two books in the series and so I was keen to see the story continue. In this book Toby has just returned to his work after being shot (Book 2). He worries that he has lost his edge with his sculpture, but Damon assures him that he hasn't.
"I promise I'm not blowing sunshine up your ass, baby."
Toby and Damon are still very much in love and it was nice to see Peter and Christian make another appearance in this book. I would love to know more about Christian's story (Hint hint). It was nice to see them help Toby become more confident in his relationship and with being a sub.
I wanted to cry when Toby found out that someone had trashed his studio and his apartment. As an artist myself I know how important the creative process is and how you like special tools and the things you use kept in a certain way. For someone to destroy Toby's work space was horrible and poor Toby - he didn't know how to cope.
The good news and bad news is that the story line didn't progress much more than that. It's good news because it means there will be at least one other installment and bad news because I really want to know what is going on behind all of the attacks. But it was wonderful to see how much Toby has grown in his relationship with Damon, and as I mentioned earlier, Peter and Christian were an added bonus. There's a heap of hot and really inventive sex in the book, which is always fun to read - I love the scenes that this author comes up with. If you're wondering, you could read this as a standalone, but honestly you would get a lot more out of it if you read the two previous books first.
