The Christmas season is fast approaching. Jesse and George try to keep their connection alive with stolen late night dinners and secret meetings, which never seem to be enough.
Zac doesn’t take no for an answer, and has set his sights on George’s slave Elliot as his newest conquest. Determined to see Elliot and bring him some holiday spirit, Zac starts a battle of wits with George. But Will George be able to outsmart Zac, and keep him away from Elliot, for long?
Be Warned: m/m sex, BDSM, sex toys, fire play
I read this book straight after Breach of Contract (Bound 2) and so the time line threw me off for a moment. This book delves a bit more into the pain both George and Jessie felt when they were forced apart by Cill (Jessie's wife), but the main focus is on Elliot - one of Georges slaves and Jessie’s brother, Zac.
I can see why Elliot was so devoted to George - it was almost as if he got off on the pain of knowing that George wanted Jessie. He was a masochist in every form. But my heart broke for him when he saw the newspaper. It was brutal. I loved George's response.
Things in life seem so mountainous when you are scaling the cliffs, but when you look behind you, they are no more than hills.
Zac is a bit more complicated and harder to understand. I sort of get why he was mad at Jessie, I can almost understand why he was into the drugs and so much sex, with so many people. I wanted to like him, but for much of the book I couldn't work out what the blasted man wanted. The only redeeming feature is that I don't think he did either. However, Zac was really amazing when Elliot told him his fantasy, and I liked how that played out.
Unfortunately I am going to have to read the next book to find out more about Zac and Elliot at least. I know the author had only intended this as a short to fill in a few gaps of the secondary characters in the other books, but I really would have liked to see where Zac and Elliot would go, or even if they would. But then I have never had a lot of patience with HFN. I will be looking forward to Book 4 in the Bound series which I know is coming out soon.
Favorite Line: I've learned to think outside the box.
