Let the Rain Come Down (The Moonlight Breed Book 6) by Gabrielle Evans
Rating ~ 5 Stars
[Siren Everlasting Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, shape-shifters, public exhibition, light bondage, HEA] After spending a decade of doing exactly what he’s told and having every minute of his life choreographed for him, Oscar has no idea what to do now that he’s free.
Keeping him and his friends hidden from people who want to hurt them is top priority, but he can’t help wanting something more for himself. Neither completely man nor animal, but somewhere between, Demitrius Accola has lived his life as an outcast, enduring the fear and judgment of others because of his appearance.
Assigned to protect the new Moonlighters in Haven, he never thought he’d find his mate. Nor did he expect that the little shifter would be completely unafraid of him. When the past Oscar is trying to outrun finally catches up with him, there’s no question of how far Demitrius will go to protect his mate. It’s only a question of if it will be enough. ** A Siren Erotic Romance
Liza’s Quick Bite
Yes, I might admit to going through a phase of loving shifters, (okay that one is not a phase, I adore shifters) who happen to be of disparate sizes and slightly flawed, and yet love each other anyway. You get that with Gabrielle Evan's books. In this one, which can be read as standalone, but it is easier if you have read a couple of the others, we get to learn about Demitrius and Oscar. Demitrius has always kept himself away from others not only because of his animal, but because when most people see him, they scream at him and not in a nice way. Oscar didn't scream, in fact the tiny little man got a lot closer than Demitrius was used to and it was adorable.
Oscar is a hedgehog shifter, and doesn't that just make you go "awww" before you have even read the book. He is a little bit prickly but he loves his mate with his whole soul and their story had me laughing, and a bit worried for both of them at parts. But in true Ms. Evans fashion the two men sort out the fuss, and are strongly cemented in their true love.
Dream Lover by James Ryder
Rating ~ 4.5 Stars
When Mr. Glad Rags meets Mr. Riches, the result is flaming fun.
Sometimes dreams really do come true. But sometimes they can turn into nightmares.
‘The curse said that anyone who owned the Rockford plantation house would dream of their one true love, whether that love was their wife or husband or not; or indeed whether they had even met the person yet. You would fall in love instantly but when you consummated that love, you would condemn your soul mate to death, for within the next cycle of the moon your one true love would suffer the most agonising, painful death.’
Hard-nosed journalist Ryan Davis didn’t believe in the curse when he’d purchased the run-down Louisiana mansion. He still didn’t want to believe it after falling for Hunter Hampton, despite the fact that he’d had the most intensely sensual dream about him two nights before meeting him for first time. But it’s hard to ignore the tragedies that have befallen the previous owners of the property.
But who set the curse, and why? And more importantly, can it be undone before it’s too late?
Mark’s Quick Bite
A little gem of a book. It only took me just over three hours to read, but my how James manages to pack a lot into a few pages. What I really loved about this book was the combination of mystery-suspense, love story, the characters, its descriptions, the well paced plot, historical aspects and the history of the characters, all woven into one great read. Although the alleged curse on the house finds a more modern answer, you are still left with a question mark on whether the old curse is really still in effect. This was brilliantly done and left me holding my breath right to the very end of the book with of course a HEA.
Take My a Picture by Giselle Ellis
Rating ~ 5 Stars
Aaron has no idea what he's walking into when he shows up to pose for a famous—and famously bad-tempered—photographer. He certainly doesn't expect to end up working as Jake's assistant for five frustrating, thrilling, and crazy years instead of in front of the camera.
It all works until Jake realizes Aaron has become the focus of his life, a life that's threatened when Aaron actually leaves him to start a relationship with someone else. Though it breaks his heart, Jake realizes he has to set his beloved muse free to have any chance of winning Aaron back.
Macky’s Quick Bite
Classed as one of my little gem finds; 'Take My Picture' always runs like a movie in my head. I've read it a few times now and can picture this being made into a rom com indie gay film. A story where the two very likable but exasperating MC's dance around each other for a long time like a couple of numpties before they realise what's been staring them in the face! They're true soul mates who are totally clueless to the obvious love that everyone ...and I mean everyone...including the flow of boyfriends who come into their lives over the years, BFF's, the world, his dog and his mother, can see they have for each other! But it's so enjoyable and endearing watching them finally reach their HEA that despite wanting to shake the two of them at times, you just can't help loving them to bits. Full to the brim with snappy dialogue, dry humour, excellent snark and banter, as well as the loads of sigh worthy scenes that make you tingle and feel all warm and fuzzy, it's just delightful. One of my all time faves.
