Synopsis

Tucker Reynolds is a rising star in country music. The people from his record label tell him he's destined to be one of the greats—but only if he fits the "good ol' boy" image country fans expect from him. The trouble is, that's not the kind of man's man Tucker really wants to be. Forced into an unsavory relationship with a record executive and frustrated by his regrettably platonic relationship with his best friend and guitarist, Mags Palmer, Tucker turns to kinky sex with male prostitutes for release. Things hit Tucker's limit when one of Tucker's bandmates, Jess Grayville, begins to suspect what's going on, and puts himself in danger to protect Tucker. Desperate for a way out of his troubles, Tucker realizes only honesty, love, and a true song can save himself and the man who stands by him.

Macky: It was a hard choice this month because three books were vying against each other, two from authors who are big favourites of mine but I decided to pick this because I've never read a book from Lynn before and I was REALLY impressed with how beautifully she managed to write and portray such a dark, disturbing story. It wasn't an easy read but it stayed with me a long time after finishing it. Definitely not a story I'll forget. I love a book that grips me and gets under my skin, and Tucker and his emotional turmoil did just that...plus Mr Briant the bad guy was memorable because he was SO twisted! I'm shivering now just thinking about him...**Shudders**.

Don’t waste a chance at happiness…

Leo is a lonely workaholic with no time for romance in his life. His job in London takes all his energy and commitment. When he goes to Cornwall to stay with his terminally ill uncle, Edwin, love is the last thing Leo expects to find.

Tris lives in a cottage on Edwin’s land. Gay, but still half in the closet, he and Leo bond over their affection for Edwin, and the pull of attraction between them proves too strong to ignore. In Tris’s arms, in the wilds of Cornwall, Leo finds a peace he’d forgotten existed.
On his return to London, Leo finds himself grieving for more than just the loss of his uncle. When some unexpected news gives Leo the chance to return to Cornwall, he’s afraid it will be too late to rekindle things with Tris. But having learned much from his stay with his uncle, Leo doesn’t want to look back and wish he’d done things differently.

It’s time to seize the day—if it’s not already too late.

Mark: My Hotpick from February is Jay Northcote’s Passing Through. Although I had read a lot of good books in this month this one stayed with me for a long time. Another book that just reduced me to tears and had me snivelling buckets into my Kindle. This book evoked emotions in me that were so strong it left me reflecting on life for days. Absolutely beautiful writing from Jay Northcote that anyone who reads this book without getting the slightest lump in their throat have no feelings to talk about. The title of this book is just so fitting, Passing Through, life is a journey and if that is the case every single one of us are just passing through. The key is whether we make it count or not; to write our own chapter to leave behind for others to remember us by.The book ends on a bittersweet note, although that doesn’t really describe the way I felt. This book is a MUST READ!

Synopsis

Book Two in the A Dragon's Treasure series.

Sometimes big things come in small packages.

Nyx has found a possible mate, but he’s pretty certain Fate made a mistake. Not only is his mate working in a brothel, which is playing merry hell with Nyx’s possessive side, he’s also a Pixie. Pol is small and delicate, and Nyx is certain he would break the poor man within a week. Nyx will just wait until the next candidate comes around. The fact that this is the first potential mate he’s come across in several hundred years is, of course, beside the point. Unfortunately, no matter how hard Nyx tries, he can’t keep away. When he finds himself on the verge of turning into a stalker, Nyx gives in to the inevitable and goes traipsing off to claim his Pixie.

When Nyx comes bursting into his life, Pol is thrilled to accept the dragon as his mate. No one would call Nyx charming, yet he still manages to sweep Pol off his feet—quite literally, at times. Once the first flush of lust wears off, though, Pol begins to worry that he’s made a mistake. The problem isn’t Nyx. Pol is well on his way to loving the reserved dragon. But Pol is harboring a dangerous secret. A secret with the potential to upset the balance of power in Faerie…

Liza: Throw in one hot pixie, and a bigger, hotter dragon and you are bound to get sparks flying especially when they are mates.  Nyx (the Dragon) doesn't want Pol - he has definite reservations about the fact that Pol works in a brothel.  But then they meet, and Bam - yes that fated mate stuff is pretty hot stuff and this book is full of it.  Pol is a delight, Nyx is all big and growly and this is just the stuff to keep you warm on a cold afternoon.

Synopsis

In a land unforgiving of indulgent, dangerous sex, merchantman Eryn does his best to keep his desires in the dark…until the plight of a beautiful prince leads him out of the shadows and into adventures both sensual and terrible.

Capture, curse, and torture litter Eryn’s road to true love, along with carnal delights beyond his most wicked imaginings. His strengths and limitations are exposed—and the hard truth, that nothing holds him back more than the monster of self-loathing in his heart. Prince Wyn might be everything he’s dreamed of in a man—and master—but before Eryn can accept the exquisitely wicked affections of his one true love, he must first save himself…from himself.

This novella was originally published under the title Sweet Son and has been significantly revised.

Monique: I picked the Devil Will Do as my Hotpick for February firstly, because it’s a fabulous read and secondly it’s a testament to how amazingly talented and versatile Heidi Cullinan is as a writer. She manages to weave her own brand of magic, and creates an illusion worthy of the pasha himself. It’s a beautiful, heart-warming fairy tale, very much of the adult nature, complete with ‘Cullinan Kink’ at it’s very best. Only Heidi can take a fairy tale and make it both sweet and endearing whilst at the same time deliciously dark and kinky. The Devil Will Do deals with some very hard limit, sexual practices, yet Heidi still manages to keep the enchantment and innocence of the tale, with a simplicity to the writing which is totally engaging.

GRbuttonhotpicks11834315

Synopsis

In Portland, Oregon, the only thing hotter than the coffee shops, restaurants, and bakeries are the hard-working men who serve it up—hot, fresh, and ready to go—with no reservations…

Robby is a self-employed barista with a busy coffee cart, a warm smile, and a major crush on one of his customers. David is a handsome finance director who works nearby, eats lunch by himself, and expects nothing but "the usual"—small vanilla latte—from the cute guy in the cart. But when David shows up for his first Portland Pride festival, Robby works up the nerve to take their slow-brewing relationship to the next level. David, however, is newly out and single, still grieving the loss of his longtime lover, and unsure if he’s ready to date again. Yet with every fresh latte, sweet exchange—and near hook-up—David and Robby go from simmering to steaming to piping hot. The question is: Will someone get burned?

First in the new Portland Heat series!

Lisa: Served Hot is the first book in Annabeth Albert’s new Portland Heat series. This is a sweet and steamy romance about two guys, both having been marked by past relationships, who can’t help but take another chance on love. With vanilla lattes, tender moments and smoking hot chemistry can both men take their relationship to the next level?"
