Why I Love My Man
Hi, everyone. My name is Jacob Z. Flores, and I’m thrilled to be here at Sinfully. I’d like to thank Macky for opening her digital home to me and hosting me today. I truly appreciate it.
So why has Macky let me in? Well, she’s kindly let me stop by to promote Please Remember Me, my latest release from Dreamspinner, and seeing as how it’s Valentine’s Day, it’s the perfect time to talk about my special Valentine, my boyfriend Mike.
When I met this man, I had no clue how important he would be to my life, my heart, and my soul, so I wanted to share with all you wonderful readers the reasons why I love my man!
Reason #1—His heart
Mike’s capacity to love is truly mind-boggling. He greets each day with a smile and makes it his personal goal to fill his life with nothing but happiness. It’s not uncommon for him to go out of his way for a friend or someone in need just because it’s the right thing to do.
That was definitely the type of love I needed in my life. It is pure and selfless, and I consider it an honor to love and be loved by a man, whose love has changed my life.
Reason #2—His strength
I’m not talking about his physical strength either. Yeah, he’s strong. Damn strong actually that it makes wrestling with him aggravating because I can never win. Well, I win but that comes after we wrestle. *grin.
What I’m talking about is his inner strength. He hasn’t lived the easiest life. It’s been a rough one, but that hasn’t turned him into a jaded, gruff butt wipe. As he has told me on many occasions, “Every obstacle I’ve faced has made me the man I am today.”
And he’s right. The strength of his character and willpower forged this diamond from the rough.
Reason #3—His playfulness
This is one of my favorite characteristics about Mike. He might be 6’3” and 200 pounds, but he can turn into a real goof. Which I couldn’t be more pleased about since I tend to always be a goof. We will say silly things or do bizarre dances in front of each other, and it’s refreshing.
I can be who I truly am around him, not who I present to the world. And you know what? He loves me despite my penchant for making silly faces and just as wonderful, he shoots the silly face right back at me.
Reason #4—His friendship
Many people might say this is cliché, but damn it, Mike’s my best friend. I can tell him anything and everything. He knows every skeleton in my closet and the constant rattling bones doesn’t bother him one bit. He’ll just build a bigger closet if we need it.
And not only that, he knows what I need. If I need a hug, he’ll give it to me. If I’m pissy and need distance, he’ll give that to me too. If I need to be told to get over myself, well, he unfortunately doesn’t hesitate to tell me that too.
Reason #5—His body
OMG! Muscles. Tattoos. Piercings. Scruff. Blue eyes. Firm butt. And much, much, much more. And you know what? It’s all mine, so enough said.

Successful lawyer Santi Herrera couldn’t be happier with the direction his life is taking. Not only is he on track to becoming a partner in his law firm, but he’s planning his wedding to Hank Burton, a south Texas contractor who has made a name for himself despite his humble beginnings. The introverted lone wolf Santi and the friendly, outgoing Hank complement each other perfectly. From the moment they laid eyes on each other, they were hooked, and as far as Santi and Hank are concerned, a happily ever after is their destiny.
But fate deals them a devastating new hand.
A construction accident leaves Hank with severe head trauma and brings him precariously close to death. When he finally awakens, Hank doesn’t remember Santi or the love they shared for the past three years. Santi faces the greatest challenge of his life. Can he respark a flame his lover can’t recall? And can he stop the diverging paths that fickle fate charts between them?
Santi has faith in the love he and Hank shared and in the words his father once spoke to him: “It’s never too late to fall in love. All over again.”
Meet Jacob Flores
Jacob Z. Flores lives a double life. During the day, he is a respected college English professor and mid-level administrator. At night and during his summer vacation, he loosens the tie and tosses aside the trendy sports coat to write man on man fiction, where the hard ass assessor of freshmen level composition turns his attention to the firm posteriors and other rigid appendages of the characters in his fictional world.
Summers in Provincetown, Massachusetts, provide Jacob with inspiration for his fiction. The abundance of barely clothed man flesh and daily debauchery stimulates his personal muse. When he isn’t stroking the keyboard, Jacob spends time with his daughter. They both represent a bright blue blip in an otherwise predominantly red swath in south Texas.
