Bonds of Denial by Lynda Aicher
Rating ~ 5 Stars
Book five of Wicked Play
It's been twenty years since Rockford Fielding's father punished him for kissing another boy. Now a grown man with a military career behind him, Rock continues to deny his true desires, even while working security at The Den, the most decadent sex club in town. But after a year of watching gorgeous Carter Montgomery come and go on the arms of other men, Rock can no longer resist the cravings he's denied for so long.
Carter has just four months left on his contract with an escort agency, and he doesn't know whether to feel relieved or afraid. Being an escort is all he knows. Adding to his confusion is the way his latest client, the sexy but stoic Rock, makes him feel things he hasn't wanted in years.
One charmingly awkward date turns into two and soon the men are meeting off the clock. But with Rock in the closet and Carter unsure how to pursue a real relationship, how can they build a future both in and out of the bedroom?
Macky’s Quick Bite
Part of a M/F series set in a BDSM club called 'The Den', this was Lynda Aichers first foray into the world of M/M and it was a complete winner for me. The BDSM aspect was actually more background in this, but what a fantastic, emotionally charged, ultra sexy (but non gratuitous or repetitive) romance this was. The love story between deeply closeted Rockford Fielding, who works security at The Den and Carter Montgomery, the male escort he becomes totally fascinated with, was just gorgeous. Their journey wasn't always smooth and they had a few bumpy moments but the love that developed was palpable and it jumped off the page. Carter helped Rock finally find the courage to admit he's gay and Rock showed Carter that being an escort wasn't all that he is; that he's still worthy of true love. Their love scenes made me go a bit gooey, giving me the belly tingles, and the angst was paced just right. It worked on every level for me and I absolutely loved it! Recommended!
Rhapsody on a Theme (Vivaldi in the Dark #3) by Matthew Metzger
Rating ~ 4 Stars
Sequel to The Devil's Trill Sonata.
Although their relationship has been repaired since the disaster that was Cambridge, Darren has not. His depression has worsened over the years until it is no longer an option to watch the illness play out its patterns. Treatment is a must.
Treatment is also a difficult disaster. When the second attempt at medication goes as badly wrong as the first, and Darren is forced through a rapid deterioration of mood swings, insomnia, nausea and increasingly dangerous thought patterns, his partner Jayden begins to fear that the only end to this disease will also be the end of Darren himself.
Apart from a single glimmer of hope: when Darren's best friend asks Darren to play at his wedding, Darren begins to slowly return to the half-forgotten piano. As he slowly sinks back into the music that he deserted seven years earlier, the shadows -- finally -- begin to fade.
Mark’s Quick Bite
As I featured the second book last week and I don’t like to leave jobs unfinished then this week I have chosen the third and final book in Matthew Metzger's Vivaldi in the Dark series. This third and final book in the Vivaldi in The Dark series is Darren’s own personal trip to hell, through it and back. A fight to battle his depression demons, a way out of an all consuming darkness and back into light.
Darren is now seeing a therapist but she is more hindrance than help which leaves Darren spiralling down to his lowest ever point in is life. This was a dark journey once again, but thanks to Jayden’s love and his family’s support Darren manages to pull out of it. This book ends on a wonderful HEA and really goes from rock bottom to sky high!
Full Moon Delta (Moon Compound 6) by Jackie Nacht
Rating ~ 4 Stars
Malach couldn’t believe that the gods would grant him a second chance, but they had when he rescued Sascha from the hands of a pack aligned with hellhounds. Now, Malach will do everything to help and heal his Delta, even if it means making the greatest sacrifice of all.
Being a Delta and abused all his life, Sascha has little trust in shifters. Now living in Moon Compound and with a mate, he must first learn to trust and then tell his mate they can never be together. For to be with a Delta is to be with the dammed.
Liza’s Quick Bite
A darker twist to a shifter story than I am used to, in this instalment of the Moon Compound Malach, a wolf shifter, meets Sascha who is a Delta wolf, when he is on a rescue mission. Sascha has been dreadfully abused and is near death. It doesn't matter to Malach, Sascha is his mate and Malach is determined to look after the man. Unfortunately things are not all roses and sunshine. The Moon Compound is facing a war, and Sascha's bite could take more from Malach than he bargained for. This book is a unique take on the true mate shifter trope, and while it is a bit strange in places, the story itself is compelling. Malach is a true shifter in every way, while Sascha's unusual "gift" gives the story a unique twist. This is not a sweet book, but it is a good one. Can be read as standalone.
Fettered by Lyn Gala

Dylan Carter has always played second fiddle to his perfect older brother, but now that brother is implicated in a terrible crime, and Dylan's family is imploding. Dylan can’t hide anymore. Knowing he’s falling apart, he searches for something or someone to hold him together—and lands in a BDSM bar called the Stonewall.
Dylan doesn’t understand Miss Dolphinia, the hard-drinking queen who seems determined to play matchmaker. But more confusing is the way the powerful men in leather make him feel. In her wisdom, Miss Dolphinia sends Dylan off to a back room for his introduction to the world of erotic spankings and bondage.
Dylan’s teacher—for want of a better word—is the very dominant Vin Hauser. Vin likes to play hard, but he’s honest with himself—he knows all those men want is a strong hand, not a long-term relationship. Yet Vin can’t help but hope Dylan might be different.
With controversy over his brother’s sins stirring up danger around him, Dylan needs Vin’s support more than ever. But until he and Vin learn to trust each other, Dylan will have to face his fear and the growing threats alone.
Monique’s Quick Bite
This book is fabulous and I absolutely loved it! Full of emotion, dark in places disturbing in others and peppered with humour and lines that had me laughing out loud… and not forgetting the sizzling tantalisingly, deliciously tortuous sex!!! The plot is riveting, not for one moment was I skipping or did I become bored. The writing was amazing and ALL the characters were totally brought to life by Lyn Gala… Their voices were clear and every nuance and idiosyncrasy played perfectly in my mind, they were totally three dimensional and like a sponge I soaked up every word, each one of them pulling on all my heart strings.
Ms Gala, paints a vivid picture for every scene, delves deep into each character and tells a tale that will keep you enthralled and captivated from beginning to end… I highly recommend this book!
