Cambridge art professor Larry Morton takes one, alcohol-glazed look at the huge, tattooed man looming in a dark alley, and assumes he’s done for. Moments later he finds himself disarmed—literally and figuratively. And, the next morning, he can’t rest until he offers an apology to the man who turned out to be more gentle than giant.
Larry's intrigued to find there's more to Al Fletcher than meets the eye; he possesses a natural artistic talent that shines through untutored technique. Unfortunately, no one else seems to see the sensitive soul beneath Al’s imposing, scarred, undeniably sexy exterior. Least of all Larry's class-conscious family, who would like nothing better than to split up this mismatched pair.
Is it physical? Oh, yes, it’s deliciously physical, and so much more—which makes Larry’s next task so daunting. Not just convincing his colleagues, friends and family that their relationship is more than skin deep. It’s convincing Al.
Contains comic misunderstandings, misuse of art materials, and unexpected poignancy
Liza’s Quick Bite
This is one of those books that takes you by surprise. It is written from the perspective of someone who clearly has some social learning issues, and yet who is a dear and gentle soul. Big Al meets Larry one night in a dark alley. Because of the way Al looks, Larry thinks he is being mugged, when you can tell from Al's perspective that nothing was further from the truth. Their relationship is sweet, unusual and yet really hot, and despite a touch of angst that surprisingly came from Larry's side, rather than Al's, their HEA is pretty much guaranteed by the end of the book. I've read this twice and it has touched me both times and all credit to the author for presenting a realistic picture of someone like AL.

Mark’s Quick Bite
Another winner for me! This book magnificently combines all the genres that I love in one solid and fascinating plot. Murder-mystery, historical, contemporary, damaged souls, everything all rolled into one book. Seriously, I was in my element. Despite everything that is going on you are never left in any doubt how devoted these two men are to each other. A beautiful romance evolves, even though it does have a past, these two guys are made for each other. You know how and what they are feeling all the way. After all that’s exactly why I read books. No cardboard characters here, each character is essential to the plot and story in some way.

Twink's Bottom - Just a typical English village...
Tracy Richards has no idea what to expect when he takes the job of caretaker at the mysterious village of Twink's Bottom. The locals are happy to tell him about the part he will have to play in the annual erotic topiary event, but when it comes to the reclusive lord living in the dilapidated manor house on the hill, they are far more reluctant to talk.
Lord Reeves lives an isolated life, only venturing from the grounds of Twink's Bottom Manor to walk his beloved dog, Reggie. But Lord Reeves has a vision—a beautiful, majestic topiary phallus soaring towards the sky from the top of Twink's Bottom Hill. He believes its creation will lay old ghosts to rest, and bring him the peace that has alluded him for so many years.
Could Tracy be the man to bring Lord Reeves' phallus to life, and by working together will they finally reclaim Rory's rightful place as The Lord of Twink's Bottom?
*Author's Note* The Lord of Twink's Bottom is an M/M Romance featuring explicit sexual scenes and strong language. It is intended for adult readers.
Macky’s Quick Bite
Okay this week I'm going for something REALLY funny and as British as cups of tea and cream cakes, only make those cream cakes boob shaped as this story is smut filled, double entendre, innuendo heaven and I loved it! Like watching a 'Carry On' film mixed up with an episode of 'Midsommer Murders'. I wanted to shout "OOOH Matron!!!! every five minutes as those sexual innuendo's came thick and fast...no pun intended there...well, there might have been a bit of one considering this book! Hahaha. Set in the village of Twinks Bottom, not far from 'The Arse End Of Nowhere'; Tracy, Wow wee, (Rory) and a whole cast of misfit characters smutted themselves into my heart forever. There was Phallic shaped topiary, English country village intrigue, those boob shaped cream cakes, seventies style mustachioed English nobility, crotch nuzzling dogs, Mr Potato head... I could go on, but they're all there and it's hilarious! I tittered throughout and just had fun, fun, fun, with Tracy the twink, and his speech challenged English lord so if you fancy getting your funny bone tickled then let Danni Keane do it...mine got a real pounding ....she's a very funny lady!
That’s Who I Am by Jayden Brooks

Jared Winters’s life has been little more than a collection of moments where he didn’t think before opening his mouth. Always a bit different, he’s learned to accept an existence on the outside looking in. But one day, his mouth lands him in a position that nearly costs him his life. Only the timely intervention of Sophie, his twin Conner’s ex-girlfriend, saves him.
Siblings Sophie and Donovan Carrigan step in and offer support, comfort, and a place to call home. Under their care, Jared begins to heal and learns to trust just enough to act on his attraction to Donovan. He just hopes it’s worth the risk.
Monique’s Quick Bite
I loved this novella from Jayden Brooks, it’s a beautiful story of hope, and being inside Jareds head is both heart-warming and heart breaking… When you are continuously reminded you’re a fuck up when growing up… you believe it …especially when it’s from those you love, and those who are supposed to love you in return. Jared is resigned to his life as a failure, because unfortunately he has no control over what comes out of his mouth. Even after he has spoken an unfiltered sentence, he has no idea that what he’s saying could be hurtful… poor Jared is innocently oblivious. He’s such a lonely character and feels overwhelming guilt for the hurt he causes, so he created his own little happy place in his head, where we see this sweet, quirky, funny guy who has learned to make fun of himself rather than wallow in self-pity… he has so much love in his heart, even for those who spurn it… I felt incredible sadness for this misunderstood young man who just wants to be loved, and spent the whole time so angry with his so called family or saying ‘aww bless him’.
His hope for a future comes in the form of a big red head with freckles by the name of Donovan and his sister Sophie. They gave him the confidence to be himself, they understood him, well actually, more pointedly, they took the time to understand him and his quirky ways.
I absolutely adored Jared and really enjoyed Jayden Brooks writing style and I’m hoping to see more from this author.
