A Little Complicated by Kade Boehme
Rating ~ 4 Stars
Ryan Borja met the guy of his dreams in college. Brady Novak was kind, responsible and easy on the eyes. Yeah, the guy had a kid but Ryan loved her too. What could go wrong? Well, Ryan's sister Ellie, that's what. Ellie is a flighty, love-em-and-leave-em kinda girl with a big heart who doesn't realize she dated the guy Ryan had fantasized about. But, like all of Ellie's other relationships, this one ended withing two months, just in time to send Brady running off to take a job in Phoenix, taking Ryan's heart with him.
Ryan never thought he'd see Brady again until eight years later Ryan's sister blindsides him by announcing that not only is Brady back in Atlanta but she'd asked him out on a date. And he'd accepted. As if that wasn't enough to send Ryan on a tailspin, he finds out the neighborhood girl brings him face to face with Brady.
Brady can't believe when he sees Ryan again. He assumed Ryan had moved on from Atlanta, like he'd always said he would. But Brady hasn't forgotten his cute, nerdy friend and wants nothing more than to have a chance to try the relationship they never got to have all those years ago, but convincing Ryan that he hadn't slept with Ellie proves difficult. Ryan is still hurt over the way they left things and makes it an uphill battle, but Brady has waited too long. He'll damn well give a good go of trying to get his man and with the help of his precocious teenage daughter and a little help from friends they may just get their Happily Ever After.
Mark’s Quick Bite
A little complicated? I found this situation completely convoluted, but needless to say things untangle themselves at the end thank goodness. Kade creates what seems at the beginning to be an impossible situation, with real and authentic characters but it all unravels itself in the end. Once again two men not communicating their true emotions with each other. But then if you could sort things out with a good chat for 30 mins then it would never be a story, would it? And to be honest the latter never really is the real one anyway, is it? People talk conveniently about characters communicating, but there are so many examples in real life where communication has broken down through various reasons whether private, political or international. I liked the way that this story resolves itself and everyone gets their HEA.

Monique’s Quick Bite
A love story that slowly blooms from a friendship borne of tragedy and one man's voyage of self discovery… This was one of those books, I just couldn’t put down, It drew me in and had me totally engrossed, with some real laugh out loud moments as well as leaving me emotionally drained. I was fully invested in the relationship of these two adorable characters, I loved them... I really wanted to see how KC Burn was going to move them forward from the grief that enveloped them both, whilst also dealing with a man that was totally oblivious to his own sexuality!
There is a lot of grief, and a lot of soul searching and at times both Kurt and Davy made me cross, well more Davy than Kurt, but overall, this was a fabulous read and I have loved the Toronto Tales Series, so much so, I have all three books on audio too… So, yes, another winner for me!

It's been six months since Vance Wolf buried his father. Driven to an early grave by the constant harassment of the new owner of the neighboring property, Andrew Blackwell. Now Vance's cattle are disappearing faster than he can replace them and their cash flow has been wiped out by the new barn they had to build after the other one mysteriously caught fire. The local sheriff's pockets are being lined by Blackwell, so Vance knows they're on their own and is at his wits end. Then his mother suggests they open up the ranch to business types as a cowboy camp.
Adam Prentiss arrives at Wolf Creek Ranch on a team-building exercise with the four colleagues in his department. He is not the cowboy type, but has no choice as his boss, and father, has sent him to Wolf Creek with instructions to delve into the financial status of the ranch and report back to him. Falling for Vance Wolf had not been part of the plan, but the connection between them had been instant. But what was he more afraid of? Disobeying his boss or Vance finding out Adam's father was in fact Andrew Blackwell and he'd been sent to help him appropriate Vance's land by any means necessary?
A very enjoyable cowboy romance that had everything you need to make it a great read. Hot sexy cowboy, gorgeous rich city boy, THE proverbial barn where naughty things happen ( NOT a cowboy romance without some hot barn scenes!! ) evil scheming father, ranch intrigue, horses, fab sexual tension and just enough conflict to keep you invested until the end when of course the guys get their deserved HEA and the crappy Ahole dad gets his well earned comeuppance. Sound familiar? I suppose it is but when its done well, what the hell does it matter. This was good!
There's not been a Lisa Worral story up to now that I've not enjoyed and I'm glad to add this to the list. Keeper and a re-read on the horizon? You betcha. This has comfort read written all over it for little old me.
