Synopsis

Ambition has always been his biggest downfall...until he meets her.
World champion bulldogger Sutton Grant works hard on the road, but his quiet charm has earned the nickname "The Saint" because he's never been the love 'em and leave 'em type with the ladies. When he’s sidelined by an injury, he needs help keeping his horse in competition shape, but he fears trying to sweet-talk premier horse trainer London Gradsky is a losing proposition--because the woman sorta despises him.
London is humiliated when her boyfriend dumps her for a rodeo queen. What makes the situation worse? She’s forced to see the lovebirds on the rodeo circuit every weekend. In an attempt to save face, London agrees to assist the notoriously mild, but ruggedly handsome Sutton Grant with his horse training problem on one condition: Sutton has to pretend to be her new boyfriend.
But make believe doesn't last long between the sassy cowgirl and the laid-back bulldogger. When the attraction between them ignites, London learns that sexy Sutton is no Saint when that bedroom door closes; he's the red-hot lover she's always dreamed of.
The more time they spend together, the more Sutton realizes he wouldn’t mind being roped and tied to the rough and tumble cowgirl for real… -

Becs’ Review

Roped In is part of the 1001 Dark Nights series… a collection of novellas that are breathtakingly sexy and magically romantic. Some are paranormal, some are erotic. Each and every one is compelling and page turning.

Inspired by the exotic tales of The Arabian Nights, 1001 Dark Nights features 12 New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors.

In the original, Scheherazade desperately attempts to entertain her husband, the King of Persia, with nightly stories so that he will postpone her execution.

In this version, month after month, each of our fabulous authors puts a unique spin on the premise and creates a tale that a new Scheherazade tells long into the dark, dark night.

Personally, I’ve actually not read very many of Lorelei James’ novels although I know of her by reputation as a prolific erotic romance author and neither have I read any of the Black Top Cowboys series so I can assure you all that this one will work perfectly well as a standalone.

Sutton Grant has a badly behaved horse that needs to be trained while he recuperates from an accident and the one person above all others he wants is the girl who very reluctantly and angrily sold him the horse in the first place – London Gradsky.  He thinks she is going to be very fiery and resistant to his proposal but she’s recently been rather publicly dumped by text message and her ex is parading around the rodeo circuit with his new trophy girlfriend in tow and London grabs the chance to get Sutton to pose as her boyfriend in an attempt to get back at him.  A woman scorned and all that!

What starts as a business agreement for the both of them soon develops into a super-hot attraction and they struggle to resist each other for real.  Both of them are a little disillusioned by their lives as they currently are and definitely see something in the other that offers something different and refreshingly honest.

Lorelei James does a fantastic job of bringing to life the rodeo circuit, a world completely alien to me as a British reviewer and deftly combines the super-hot erotic sex scenes with actually a really very tender love story.

Short, sweet and very, very hot!
