Monique & Macky Review
Monique: I read the blurb… loved the sound of this book, read the warning and I was rubbing my hands in glee!

Mentioned it to Macky and her words were…
Macky: Ooooh baby...come to mamma!!!
Monique: Oh Yes!!! ...and that was all before we were visually stimulated with the impressive vision of our physically perfect and oh so well-endowed immortals, Kinzer, Treycore, Dedrus and not forgetting the adorable mortal Kid.
Where the fuck do they make all those ginormous cocks?
Macky: **Giggles** The HUGE cocks....can we please tell everyone about those!!!
Monique: Get your mind out of those pink thongs and dangly bits! We are not talking about those HUGE cocks just yet because we will NEVER get to tell the readers just how absolutely fabulous this book is.
Now I know we have discussed this book at length on the phone prior to writing this review, but in all honesty I am still at a loss to try and explain to the readers exactly how extraordinary this book is and how much I loved it!
Macky: OMG! I know, our phone chats went into overdrive after we'd finished this didn't they? I was dying to discuss this with you straight away because I was so stoked! The funny thing was before I started, my first thoughts were that this was going to be very serious, full of high fantasy and deep religious overtones, which of course there was, but not in the way that I think anyone will be expecting. I had visions of gloriously winged, proud warrior angels in shining armour, battles in heaven, and lots of mystical dark stuff, with dungeons and tortured souls! Well colour me shocked and surprised because I was so wrong! What about you Monique?
Monique: Yes, me too, that is exactly where I thought Devon was going to take us and I was excited! What I wasn’t expecting was to be transported into a fantastical world of angels and demons, or higherlings and fallen as they are known in Clipped. Where the imagery and action reminded me of being right there in an episode of Supernatural, where yes, you get the dark and gruesome, but it’s also sprinkled with humour, at times with comedic performances from the characters that were totally three dimensional. It was a nonstop compelling read, where nothing is predictable! I don’t know about you Macky but I was so engrossed, time was of no consequence, I felt as though I had read a novel in ten minutes! ...and I did not want it to end.
Macky: Absolutely agree Monique. For me this was just as much a visual experience as a readable one, with pictures in my mind, as I read along, that were vibrant and outstanding and I'm not JUST thinking about a certain set of appendages! LOL. What I loved was how Devon drew us into his awesome world of angels and demons and religious shenanigans and made it such a delight to read. I mean this had some pretty dark, violent stuff going on and touched on some very distressing issues but dammit, I actually had fun as well, and I mean fun! Somehow he managed to take that darkness and, without trivialising it at all, added snort out loud humour that made that aspect of the book a lot easier to swallow. I laughed, gasped, cursed and my jaw dropped more times than I'd like to count. Like you I found myself totally riveted and captivated from beginning to end. I LOVED this book!
Monique: OMS! (Oh My Satan)… me too Macky! And… who knew God was a propaganda specialist with spin doctors who managed to convince his creation (Mankind, a gift to his former lover Satan) that the almighty was the paragon of all that is good and pure, and Satan (who loved and cherished his gift) wreaked havoc, death and destruction, being the epitome of evil. When in fact he was fighting to save his mortals from the pompous conceited… God, who in his infinite wisdom decided we were a blemish on his otherwise perfect creations… Oh and he wanted to hurt Satan for spurning his affections. He did get one thing right though Macky… those immortals have HUGE cocks!!!
Oh no… I just mentioned the cocks!?!
Macky: Holy lube free zone!!! The 20" 'Butt Clenchers'!!!!!! Excuse me while I do a bit of wincing at the memory of THOSE love poles! Hahahaha! Did I mention 'NO LUBE!!!
Monique: Hahaha…. are you sure you wouldn’t like to elaborate on that my friend?
Macky: Well, as you know we're talking a heck of a lot of dry pounding, I don't think the letters KY were present in any of their vocabularies, haha.... Am I a bit twisted or was it still hot as freakin' Hell! Scuse the pun... ;)
Monique: Or should that be hot as freakin Heaven?!? And if you’re twisted, I’m right behind you ‘cause I have no idea how all that dry fucking with cum dribbling arses could even be deemed erotic… but damn, those immortals are HOT!
Macky: Ahh yes… BUT...don't forget the sheer perfection of the guys who are doing the dry fucking! Abs to die for, perfect pecs, washboard stomachs, tight muscle cushioned bums you could bounce a penny off and of course those HUGE cocks! Damn, these demons are the personification of sex on legs, who wouldn't bend over and clench their teeth for a pummelling off these mighty fine specimens of sexual prowess! Although on second thoughts.......*GULP*
Monique: Hahaha… Macky… did you just mention cocks AGAIN???
Macky: Hee hee! I think you'll find it was HUGE cocks Monique...**snort**
Monique: I think we have established these men are extremely sexual beings, and are more than a little partial to painful, raw, dirty and rough sex. But, I think Devon McCormack who kind of exaggerates that part of it in an almost graphic novel kind of way, managed to perfectly weave together the raw sex with not only their sexual action but also the high adrenaline action of the bloody battles to save mankind. There is torture, rape, it’s a battle of power... good against evil. But what impressed me was how he managed to combine it all with such intense emotion… my heart broke for these men, who somehow seemed lost on this earth they were trying to save… with Kid in awe of it all as much as I was!
Macky: That's what fascinated and kept me compelled by the whole package Monique, because as much as the book is highly entertaining, there's still some very emotional threads running through that stopped it from going totally over the top into realms of ridiculousness. The first chapter introduces Kinzer, whose wings have been clipped; hence the title, by the Raze, a rogue faction of higherlings, whose allegiance is with the Almighty and whose sole intention is to destroy anyone whose allegiance is with The Leader (Satan). Kinzer is sold as a sex slave to Jerry, a sadistic slave Master, where he makes an immediate connection with Kid, a young mortal, who has been kept prisoner by Jerry ever since he was a young teen. I absolutely adored Kid, I found him such a loveable, cheeky character but at the same time he pulled every one of my heart strings because of the horrors he'd been through as a young child, the suffering he'd undergone as a defenceless teen whilst in the clutches of Jerry and the humiliation at the hands of the perverted clients who frequented the sex club. I know we both fell hard for Kid, Monique.
Monique: I had so many laugh out loud moments with Kid, Macky, I’m smiling now just thinking of him, yet at the same time he totally broke my heart… such an optimist yet, his life has been a tragic tale, abused, a life on the streets, selling his body to survive, he’s all mouthy and full of bravado but inside he’s just a kid with dreams of a future… there is so much sadness to him but at the same time he is strong and resilient. He wants to belong and trust in something, someone, and Kinzer rescuing him suddenly gave him a purpose in life.
Macky: Aww yes! I originally thought that Kinzer and Kid would be the love match but then he introduces us to pole dancing, glow in the dark neon thonged wearing stripper angels or higherlings, Dedrus and Treycore, who are lying low, undercover, at a strip club called Dick Dongs ...hahaha, how funny was that... and that notion went right out of the window! That's when we started to learn more about Kinzers troubled love life, which included Dedrus and another higherling called Janka, and also when Kid set eyes on the guy who would end up making our little sweetie not only salivate but scream when THAT HUGE cock got anywhere near his human sized pucker.
Monique: Anyone would think we were obsessed with huge dicks Macky?
Macky: Obsessed! ...us ...with huge dicks...do you reckon the guys will think so??? LOL.
There was that absurdly large, immortal cock again. Saliva flooded into Kid’s mouth. His ass loosened and quivered as he battled between taking the pleasure and fighting the incredible pain.
Macky: Hello my name is Macky and I'm a HUGE cock addict! I need help!!!!!!!!!
Monique: Haha… maybe we should ask Devon McCormack to pop in with Treycore and Kid… being in Treycore’s company you could actually have the opposite of aversion therapy…. where you can’t touch, or talk… or look!!! *Evil laugh* Because there is no way you could discreetly hide something that size in a pair of jeans?!?
Macky: Jeans??? ...I'm hoping he'll turn up in those Pink glow in the dark thongs!! Hahaha! Damn girl, you're distracting me again!
Monique: Talking of Treycore…. I don’t know about you, but I thought he was a total arse in the beginning… arrogant SOB that he was, with nothing but contempt for mortals… their weaknesses and imperfections… And apparently we stink?! Poor Kid, more so than most… as if he hasn’t already got an inferiority complex!
Macky: Yeah, he was a big dick (in more ways than one) to start with....
Monique: You just couldn’t help yourself could you???
Macky: Harrumph!!! I'm ignoring that comment <Grins> .....where was I ..... Oh yeah.... but he’s wasn't as shallow as he seemed originally. I have a massive weakness for non PC type characters, the ones who you know you shouldn't love because they come over as complete pains in the arses, but who you know through circumstances and generally the love of someone good—in this case Kid—get redeemed and show that they're not all bad ass, arrogant and Dickish...I KNOW! I said the D word again, LOL... But seriously Monique, I fell in love watching him change over the course of the story, in fact he became my guilty pleasure and if I had to pick favourites then Treycore and our lovely Kid juuust step into the lead for me. This guy actually made me go all weepy at the end...why? Not telling, but it just goes to show that once again Devon McCormack managed to surprise the 'heaven' out of me with his ability to make the expected...so unexpected! I never predicted actual tears to arrive but Monique, YOU know that there are moments when he practically shocks those tears out of you!
He’d felt it ever since he’d met Kid at Dick Dongs. He could reason that this boy was just a horrid, flawed, foul-smelling mortal, but his sensations were consumed with him. The sound of Kid’s voice. His humble eyes, ever evasive. His timid smile. Treycore adored his boy so much that he hated him, and he hated himself for being incapable of controlling his desire, for being powerless against his want for a lowly, nothing of a mortal. And yet, he wanted this nothing of a mortal to be his everything.
Monique: I think that’s what I liked so much about this book Macky, I fell hard for all these characters, and cried ugly, my heart broke for them. But I also just have to mention Dedrus such a gentle soul who pulled on my heartstrings. He was so conflicted, Kinzer is the love of his life, he’s never been able to get over the intensity of the love he had for him. He wants him with every fibre of his being but his conscience is telling him it shouldn’t be at the expense of his dead friend Janka… Kinzers ex-lover. He wants it, but the guilt and his emotions are confusing. A constant push - pull of the only man he’s ever loved, he wants to be more to Kinzer, not a fuck that’s needed through grief, he wants his friend and lover back, but how can he erase what came between them. But the truth of what kept these two men apart and Kinzer’s own feelings towards Dedrus was a thread that kept me intrigued throughout this book.
Macky: Yes, that 'love triangle' style conflict was another meaty, emotional element that added depth to the story, two really stubborn guys with conflicting memories but once again you truly couldn't help getting caught up in their sizzilingly hot, but mixed up relationship. Mind you all is not what it seems in that camp either. And then we can't forget Maggie. What a character. Bitchy, sarcastic, acid and cutting. Bloody hard work but you've got to to love that poor woman! Imagine suddenly being flung into the middle of all that! Would you believe it? And what about the evil bastard bad guys! Four words Monique ...Veylo, Creatis, Mika, and VERA!!!!
Monique: Oooh, I loved Maggie! She’s so feisty, a real little firecracker of a character… and as for the villains, well, that’s true testament to the author’s writing, when you come away from a book wanting to do real physical harm and VERA is at the top of my shit list! However as we have said already Macky, Devon McCormack has most definitely more than impressed us with his writing and this fabulous story, taking us into the realms of fantasy in a contemporary setting that was emotional, incredibly exciting, action packed and kind of tongue in cheek in parts… for want of a better word… No, before you say it… it’s not cock in cheek!
Macky: ** THUD!!! Head desk**
Monique: LOL...Back to the review Macky....
Macky: Yes! I thought it was really clever how Devon gave us little tit bits of information as the story progressed, almost as if he was teasing us with little cliffy's at the end of each characters separate instalments to keep us from hitting any dips that invariably come along at some stage in most stories but that was never the case with this. I don't think I ever lost focus once while I was reading. And then when you get to THAT finish???
Monique: I never saw that ending! Totally shocked the pants off me.
Macky: Holy Dry Dongs! Tell me about it!
Monique: Is there anything we forgot to mention? Because bloody hell Macky! This is supposed to be a review, not a novella! I would like to blame it on you and your HUGE cock obsession! But the fault lays at Devon McCormack’s door… because he created a book that captivated us both.
Macky: Monique we could wax lyrical about this amazeballs book till the Apocalypse really happens but I guess we should wrap it up now. All I can say is that I had an absolute blast reading this. I need book two ASAP! Damn that ending was a doozy!

A Word from Devon McCormack
Big Dicks, Small Holes
Where the Hell's the Lube?
It's been about two years since I came up with the idea for my paranormal novel, Clipped. I was reading a friend's copy of Letters from the Earth by Mark Twain, a book that presented perspectives on God and Satan in a way that really fascinated me. While I was reading the book, I thought, What if God and Satan were ex-lovers and the fall of man was just post-breakup drama? After that, I was off, writing what eventually became an adventure sex-romp between angels, demons, and mortals.
While Clipped is primarily about a demon trying to avenge his lovers death and stop God from bringing about the apocalypse, sex plays a major role in the story. When I conceived of the immortals, I imagined hypersexual beings who God had created to be his companions--ones that could bask in the pleasure of the universe he created. And what better way for his creations to experience pleasure than to have sex organs that are large and sensitive enough to take them to the highest heights of sexual fulfillment? That's right. My male immortals have ginormous cocks. Not just big. Frighteningly huge. But perhaps more noteworthy than the size God gifted his creations with is that he didn't care to adjust other orifices to accommodate these massive intrusions. This makes immortal sex incredibly painful...and at times, messy. The angels and demons of Clipped like it rough, though. Really rough. The sort of wear and tear that would disturb or disgust most humans arouses immortals. And because they heal faster and more effectively than humans, they aren't as concerned about the serious injuries that can result from a prickly roll in the hay. But what about when an angel tries to fuck a human?
My characters, Treycore and Kid, answer this question. The angel Treycore wields a two-footer, while the mortal Kid has a tight, human-sized hole. Throughout the course of the novel, Kid's rear takes quite a beating. Now, if you're thinking, "Two feet. That's impossible!" you're correct. Kid can't take Treycore's entire cock. He can't take most of it. But he sure can try! And Clipped chronicles his young, ambitious attempts and the sometimes concerning moments when he gets closer to his ultimate goal.
One might think an author trying to unite these characters might offer them some lube to make their work easier, considering the practical physical limitations they already have against them. But what would be the fun in that? No, no. In all seriousness, it probably would have been more fun for the characters, but I found that the absence of this substance that I greatly appreciate in my own life was born logically from the story and the characters. Lube isn't always the easiest thing to come by. Sometimes, when you're feeling most aroused, there's no immediate access to this amazing creation. And considering Treycore and Kid spend most of the novel wandering through the jungle, it certainly isn't something that they can just manifest out of thin air. But they're still horny as fuck, and it's a coin toss to decide who is more aroused by the pain pleasure aspect of their sexual escapades.
It's kinky, twisted, and...maybe a little disturbing. But it's a hell of a lot of fun. So if you want to experience rough, cock-o-saurus poundings set amidst an immortal battle over the fate of man, I recommend you head over to Amazon or Wilde City Press' website and join the others who've begun this quest through a very different version of Heaven and Hell. And feel free to connect with me on Facebook, Twitter, or Goodreads. I'm always eager to make new friends. Also, for those who might not be prepared to delve into this sort of adventure, I also have a young adult novel, Hideous.

Hideous by Devon McCormack
Eight years ago, Luke Retter witnessed the brutal murder of his mother and sister at the hands of his demon-possessed father. He survived but lost a hand and an eye. The demon also burned its emblem into his skin, marking him as a cursed. Those who bear this mark are at risk of becoming possessed themselves, so they are monitored and enslaved by the state-run UCIS. Working as a slave is hard, but Luke prefers it to the possibility of being controlled by the demon.
One night, Luke wakes to find his worst nightmare coming true. His father's demon has returned. In a panic, he runs to the only person who might be able to help: Zack, a cursed who ran away from the state and created an underground community to protect other fugitive curseds. Zack helps him suppress the demon. But the city's become a time bomb, and Luke's demon itches to escape.
With the UCIS closing in on Zack's underground operation and Luke's demon crafting its own, nefarious plot, Luke realizes that he must take a stand.
About Devon McCormack
Devon McCormack spends most of his time hiding in his lair, adventuring in paranormal worlds with his island of misfit characters. A good ole Southern boy, McCormack grew up in the Georgian suburbs with his two younger brothers and an older sister. At a very young age, he spun tales the old fashioned way, lying to anyone and everyone he encountered. He claimed he was an orphan. He claimed to be a king from another planet. He claimed to have supernatural powers. He has since harnessed this penchant for tall tales by crafting whole worlds where he can live out whatever fantasy he chooses.
A gay man himself, McCormack focuses on gay male characters, adding to the immense body of literature that chooses to represent and advocate gay men's presence in media. His body of work ranges from erotica to young adult, so readers should check the synopses of his books before purchasing so that they know what they're getting into.
