Title: Six of hearts
Author: LH Cosway
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 27 2014
Step right up and meet Jay Fields: Illusionist. Mentalist. Trickster.
I think in triangles. You think in straight lines.
I show you a table and make you believe it’s a chair.
Smoke and mirrors, sleight of hand, misdirection. I trick and deceive.
But most of all, I put on a good show.
The world thinks I killed a man, but I didn’t. Bear with me. It’s all a part of the plan.
Revenge is what I want. I want it for me and I want it for her.
I want it for all six of us.
She doesn’t remember me, but she’s the reason for everything. She’ll be my prize at the end of all this – if I can hold onto my willpower, that is. Maybe I’ll slip up a little, have a taste, just a small one.
So go ahead and pick a card. Come inside and see the show. Look at my hands, look so closely that you can’t see what’s happening while you’re so focused on looking. I’ll be destroying your world from right here in the spotlight.
You’ll never see me coming until it’s too late.
I’ve only got one heart, and after I’ve pulled off my grand deception I’ll hand it right to her.
So, sit back, relax, and let my girl tell you our story. You’re in for one hell of a ride.
Mesmerizing. Utterly mesmerizing. Every once in a while a book comes along that knocks you off your seat when you least expect it, and Six of Hearts is one of those books. This is an absolute must read!
Six of Hearts is a story of epic love. Jay and Matilda are both broken by their pasts but continue to build their futures and deal with the past in different ways. Jay is driven by revenge and Matilda by fear.
“...mystery is better than the truth. So why not live with the magic? Be a kid again and believe in the fantastical. Life is more fun with a little smoke and mirrors.”
Jason (“Jay”) Fielding is an illusionist whose reputation is being dragged through the mud by the media, and he’s on a quest to clear his name. Jay and Matilda meet when Jay seeks legal counsel to help with his media troubles. The pair soon finds themselves under the spell of the other, and they embark on a journey that leads to an unconventional romance that will forever change them. It would be easy to say too much and spoil the wonder and charm of this story, so just know that between the pages lies an enchanting and heart stealing story of love and revenge. Half the fun of reading this book is watching the mystery of that amazing blurb unfold as you flip the pages.
“He’s like a light, always attracting people to him.”
There’s no doubt that Jay is the heart of the story. With a deck of cards and authoritative cool, Jay Fielding brings the wonderment of magic off the stage and into his everyday life. He is a mesmerizing and frustratingly beautiful enigma. There are just so many layers to him that it’s like looking into a mirror with another mirror.... infinite reflections of the same person. It’s difficult to not be drawn to his mysterious and slightly peculiar character. I was caught in Jay's spell and unable to look away. Trying to figure him out had me flipping pages until my eyes would no longer stay open.
“People love shit that’s all obscure and mysterious. They go just to see what it’s all about.”
….and Six of Hearts certainly proves that. Admit it… the blurb has you more than intrigued. That’s definitely what drew me in, and it did not disappoint. The tone and feel of the story is electric and magical. It’s definitely something you need to experience for yourself because it’s not just a story, it’s a feeling. It’s beautifully written with great humor and intensely passionate scenes that will leave you breathless.
Jay may be the illusionist, but this book is pure magic. Clever and wicked smart…. it’s a breath of fresh air. So if you want something off the beaten path, meet me at the corner of Original and Creative because Six of Hearts is your next book!
