Return On Investment by Aleksandr Voinov

Synopsis

Martin David, an eager but inexperienced financial analyst, is the newest member of the investment team at Skeiron Capital Partners in London. His boss is an avowed financial genius, but he’s also overbearing and intense. Despite his erratic behaviour, Martin can’t help being drawn to him both professionally and personally.

Too bad his boss doesn’t seem to feel the same. In a firm where pedigree and connections mean far more than Martin’s newly-minted business degree, Martin feels desperately inadequate—at least until he meets the enigmatic investment manager Alec Berger, who promises to help Martin establish himself in the financial community. Martin is so charmed by Alec’s sophistication and wit that he gives him data that should have stayed confidential.

Then the financial crisis hits. Banks burn, companies teeter on the brink, and Skeiron’s survival is at stake. Martin is pushed into the middle of the fight for Skeiron—against both the tanking economy and a ruthless enemy who’s stepped out of the shadows to collect the spoils.

Return on Investment is the new gay financial thriller from EPIC Award winner and Lambda Award finalist Aleksandr Voinov.

Damaged Goods by S.A. McAuley

Synopsis

Forced into early retirement from his career as a SWAT officer for the city of Detroit, James Deacon knew that when he failed it would be a fall of epic proportions. He’s been living life by the tips of his fingers for over twenty years, and his new gig organizing a group of misfit military types into a functioning team—including his reluctant ex-fiancée—won’t return him to stable ground anytime soon.

Trevor Barrow has been on the move for the last seven years—hitting the road when relationships became too real or too much work. He’s home now, working in the hazardous world of bike messengers in the Motor City, and the only one of his eight siblings who knows he’s returned is his sister Cat. It’s not as if reconnecting with them matters anyway, because it’s likely he’ll be gone again soon.

Both men are lugging some heavy baggage, but when they chance upon each other in a dive bar it’s hard to deny their flaws are more like symbiotic quirks. Trevor’s backpedaling instincts and Deacon’s dance-dance party past may just be intersecting at a time when things are about to get explosive in Detroit.

Synopsis

A Book in the Mates Series

Raised to become Alpha of the Yafenack pack, Samuel Goodwin dedicates his life to studying shifter laws, strengthening his body, and learning from his father. Taking control comes easily to Samuel, but relating to people, including those he's supposed to lead, is a constant challenge.

When Samuel meets Korban Keller, the son of a neighboring pack’s Alpha, he reacts with emotion instead of intellect for the first time in his life. Resenting the other shifter for putting him off-balance, Samuel first tries to intimidate Korban and then tries to avoid him. What he can’t do is forget Korban’s warm eyes, easy smile, and happy personality.

When a battle between their fathers results in tragedy, Samuel and Korban are thrown together. With his world crashing down around him, Samuel must save his pack and show them he can lead. But first, Korban needs to save Samuel by inspiring him to feel. Two very different men with a tumultuous history must overcome challenges from all sides and see past the rules they’ve been taught to realize they are destined to fit together.

The Destruction of Kirill

Synopsis

He thought he'd experienced the worst kinds of pain imaginable. Apparently not. The past wasn't a patch on this.

Born in the workhouse and moulded into an obedient slave, Kirill expected his life to be simple: serve his wealthy owners until they grew bored and sold him, repeating the process again and again until the day he died. He never wanted his master's precious only son to take an unhealthy interest in him, and he didn't expect one single horrifying summer's day to plunge his life into ruin.

Now he has to adjust to another kind of life: one with a man who never wanted to own a slave and has no use for the one he now possesses. But just when Kirill thinks he's finally found normality it all comes crashing down again—and worse, this time it's all his own fault.

Hauled into a world of chaos and destruction by a charming stranger, Kirill struggles to manoeuvre his way without letting both his past and his grief overwhelm him, but is his rescuer all that he seems, or has Kirill walked from one hell straight into another?

SHARDS by Chris Donovan

Synopsis

HOW WRECKED CAN A HEART GET?

We'd come back from a walk along the Canal. Jesse claimed his guitar and told me to sit and listen.
"I wrote something for you," he said.
I didn't understand everything he said in the song, he didn't go for simple, but this was a serenade. Unlike the intense, first night in the coffeehouse, there was no accompanying audience. To be the only one he sang to was engulfing.
When he finished, I got up and pulled him up, guitar attached, from his bed. I took the instrument away from him and said, "Sweetie, you're not going to be getting much sleep tonight."

HOW WRECKED CAN THE WORLD GET?

I didn't want to wait for the coffins, but I knew I had to. And they came, flag-smothered, to the sound of a trumpet. Republic soldiers took them one by one from separate funereal vehicles to the space before the Unknown Soldier.
Someone gave the Premier a microphone. She stuck it to her lower left cheek, a silver slash of a device, and walked in front of the middle coffin. The caskets, I didn't know who was in which one.

HOW WRECKED CAN A HEAD GET?

When I awoke, the doctor told me I had pieces of tombstone in my head. He said his name was Page and that we were in a government medical building. And I took his word for it; I was blind.
"You were shot pursuing a deviant," he said.

Changeling (Middle Hill Book 1) by Barbara Geiger

Synopsis

Matt sells sex because he has to take care of his little brother, Sam. While it sucks, it’s not that much different from all he endured when he was a teenager. He’s exhausting himself trying to keep them together and Sam out of the jaws of the foster care system. When he "meets" Kevin, things start looking up a little. Kevin’s not the first john to give Matt the "maybe this could work outside of work" vibe, but Matt is surprisingly hopeful, for once.

On the other hand, it’s really not a good time for Matt to be meeting someone. He has a new "job" exchanging his services for Sam's tuition at a fancy boarding school. But people who treat him badly either end up murdered or disappear. And when it comes down to it, Kevin’s just a little too perfect. He's rich, generous, and sexy. Something’s got to be wrong with the guy.

As it turns out, Kevin’s a prince of the fae. And Matt might be Kevin's king. From there, the questions start piling up. Why is a rich man taking a bus on a snowy December night? Why does Kevin disappear at the same bus stop where a man who had been bothering Matt is found murdered? And most importantly, why does Kevin keep acting like it’s Matt who will leave, when it’s Matt who’s the broken one?

Feline Persuasion by Cheyenne Meadows

Synopsis

When tiger shifter Cade turns an oily owner of a consultation firm over to the FBI, he finds himself with a hit man on his heels. Chester was in possession of security-breaching national secrets, and even more concerning, evidence that shifters exist, and if it got out, trouble would follow for all shifters. So now Cade is on the run. He holes up in an isolated hideout where he doesn't expect anyone to find him--least of all a former one-night stand.

Alpha lion shifter Micah can’t shake Cade from his mind. They spent one glorious night together before Cade ran off without leaving even a name. He’s determined to find his runaway and protect what he's come to think as his despite Cade's one and done rule. He surprises Cade in his secret nest in the forest, learns the reason for Cade's self-imposed exile, and decides to call for help. This nets them Stone: a top-of-the-line bodyguard and the one man Micah can’t stand. Stone isn't thrilled either. He can think of better things to do than spend days in the wilderness with the uppity alpha who stomps on his last nerve.

Despite their differences and history, they need to find a way to survive and expose the traitor in their midst. They also realize chances at love are fleeting unless you grab the opportunity between your teeth and hold on for one wild ride.
