“After battling through hell, I brought my esclave back from the brink of ruin. I sacrificed everything—my heart, my mind, my very desires to bring her back to life. And for a while, I thought it broke me, that I’d never be the same. But slowly the beast is growing bolder, and it’s finally time to show Tess how beautiful the dark can be.”
Q gave everything to bring Tess back. In return, he expects nothing less. Tess may have leashed and tamed him, but he’s still a monster inside.

The Inspiration behind Q and Tess
I asked Pepper to talk about the inspiration behind the storyline for all three books in this series and for the characters of Q and Tess. Most especially Q! I wanted to hear about the abuse that Tess suffers affected her as she was writing and how much of herself is in Tess?
Oh, good question. Um, the inspiration…this is the hardest question I’m asked and I still haven’t come up with a decent answer. Tears of Tess appeared in my head randomly. Tess spoke very loudly and in the background was this sulky ominous form in the guise of Q. He didn’t speak, he didn’t show any part of himself, but his sheer presence drove me to find out more about him as Tess did. I couldn’t stop thinking about him when I wasn’t writing.
Then, when I finally knew Q’s intentions, he started to talk—loudly. He had a lot to say, and in a not so tame way of saying it. Tears of Tess was meant to be a standalone, but by the time I wrote The End on that book, Q had only just started talking—so, I obeyed and wrote another. Quintessentially Q was more about Q than Tess—even though she went through a lot of trauma—it was Q who got the brunt of it and grew the most. He evolved while Tess went a little backward in her strength. By the end of QQ, I thought I could leave them healing, but after everything I’d put them through I knew a short epilogue wasn’t going to cut it.
So, along came a third book. Twisted Together was always meant to be their final journey on finding that elusive HEA. But it wasn’t a simple matter of going—you’re fine, you survived, here’s the wedding…it was a matter of working through a lot of issues that if left unresolved would’ve broken them apart in the end.
I feel as if they’ve come full circle and I can leave them to find peace and happiness now. I believe they worked through their issues and both are stronger, more stable, and happier people than they were at the very beginning.
Inspiration is the wrong word for this story—when I wrote that first chapter with Tess and Brax, I had NO clue where it would end up. I definitely never expected to write over 350,000 words on their epic love story. It wasn’t me writing the story, it was the characters dictating where they needed to go. I just hope I did them justice with what they wanted to say to me and that people enjoy their story and their ultimate ending.
Q will never be quiet in my head, he’s there with his sparrows and French. And I really wish he was real. I’d kidnap him in a heartbeat.
Thanks so much to Sinfully Sexy for having me on their blog today and for all the readers of Tess and Q.

Tears of Tess
“My life was complete. Happy, content, everything neat and perfect.
Then it all changed.
I was sold.”
Tess Snow has everything she ever wanted: one more semester before a career in property
development, a loving boyfriend, and a future dazzling bright with possibility.
For their two year anniversary, Brax surprises Tess with a romantic trip to Mexico. Sandy beaches,
delicious cocktails, and soul-connecting sex set the mood for a wonderful holiday. With a full heart,
and looking forward to a passion filled week, Tess is on top of the world.
But lusty paradise is shattered.
Kidnapped. Drugged. Stolen. Tess is forced into a world full of darkness and terror.
Captive and alone with no savior, no lover, no faith, no future, Tess evolves from terrified girl to
fierce fighter. But no matter her strength, it can’t save her from the horror of being sold.
Can Brax find Tess before she’s broken and ruined, or will Tess’s new owner change her life
“All my life, I battled with the knowledge I was twisted… fucked up to want something so deliciously dark—wrong on so many levels. But then slave fifty-eight entered my world. Hissing, fighting, with a core of iron, she showed me an existence where two wrongs make a right."
Tess is Q’s completely. Q is Tess’s irrevocably. But now, they must learn the boundaries of their unconventional relationship, while Tess seeks vengeance on the men who sold her. Q made a blood-oath to deliver their corpses at Tess’s feet, and that’s just what he’ll do.
He may be a monster, but he’s Tess’s monster.
Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero the better and she
constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex… her books have sex.
She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby (who speaks French—hot!) who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends. She loves to hear from her readers so hit her up at firstname.lastname@example.org
