Bound by Lies by Lynn Kelling
Rating ~ 5 Stars
Brayden Clare never wanted to return to small town life. Blond, athletic, and struggling with his sexual identity, a casual relationship on the beach in Florida suits him much better. When a family emergency calls him home, he is forced to trade his personal freedom for a job as a bartender in a town where everybody thinks they know who he is, and nobody has a clue—including Brayden.
Jenner Parrish is the owner and operator of Parrish Pub, the social hub of Robertsville, Pennsylvania. Jenner is charming, dominant, and popular since they were both in high school together. Brayden finds his new boss intimidating, and is daunted to find that turns him on. Jenner finds his new recruit intriguing but mustn’t dare to ask an employee to submit to him.
The two men find what they’re seeking at a masked BDSM ball in the next town over, and are startled to discover their desires rest much, much closer to home.
Monique’s Quick Bite
This is a D/s, S/M, slave/master relationship… one that I can envision as being real, a true to life exploration of each other’s wants and desires, and the difficulties and traumas that I imagine would be part of it, compounded by being gay in a small town community. But it’s also what their personalities dictate they need, that side of the relationship doesn’t overwhelm you in the book either, it is there but it's not the complete focus. This is also an emotional journey for Jenner and Brayden with all their vulnerabilities laid bare and I was captivated by it, watching their relationship grow, seeing the strength they draw from each other to confront their fears, to finally shake off the shackles that had weighed them down… to at last be free. This is not a conventional relationship but it’s theirs and they both embrace it with commitment… to belong, to be seen for who and what they truly are was breath-taking and beautiful to watch… and yes, I was crying!
If you love BDSM that is not sugar kink, Lynn Kelling has created two characters that will pull on your emotional heart strings, a big bad ass Dom, and an adorable sweetheart of a slave. Two lost souls, repressed and in denial of what is truly in their hearts and who also happen to be… Off. The. Charts on the hotness scale, as in the panty melting, puddle of lust kind… and Jenner, Oh my God… I WANT HIM!!!

Hot Head (Head #1) by Damon Suede
"Where there's smoke, there's fire..."
Since 9/11, Brooklyn firefighter Griff Muir has wrestled with impossible feelings for his best friend and partner at Ladder 181, Dante Anastagio. Unfortunately, Dante is strictly a ladies' man, and the FDNY isn't exactly gay-friendly. For ten years, Griff has hidden his heart in a half-life of public heroics and private anguish.
Griff's caution and Dante's cockiness make them an unbeatable team. To protect his buddy, there's nothing Griff wouldn't do... until a nearly bankrupt Dante proposes the worst possible solution: HotHead.com, a gay porn website where uniformed hunks get down and dirty. And Dante wants them to appear there-"together." Griff may have to guard his heart and live out his darkest fantasies on camera. Can he rescue the man he loves without wrecking their careers, their families, or their friendship?
Macky’s Quick Bite
I bet if you ask most m/m readers to name their top ten favourite books I'm pretty sure Hot Head will be in there. Its another one that's a must have if you're thinking of venturing over to man on man action and its just an absolute delight to get lost in. Griff and Dante are two gorgeous firefighters so that's a big incentive to start with, and Griff wears a kilt so that should get the blood hotting up a bit more but most of all its their journey from friends to lovers that makes this the fabulously hot but engaging read that it is. Probably one of the most enjoyable GFY (gay for you) stories that's out there and one of the most re-read books I've got in my own kindle keepers. The chemistry and sexual tension crackles, especially in the scenes at the porn studio. Oh.my. god... Talk about a turn on! Its hotter than hell when Dante's on his own but when he finally persuades Griff to join him...Hooo Boy, its time to get the cold shower going!!! But this isn't all about sex, its still a very romantic love story with a great backstory and its one that deserves the cult status its got. Love, love, love this book.

The Dark Collector by Vanessa North
Jeffrey Kuyper was a once-in-a-generation talent and I was his muse.
Jeffrey's death shocked the art world and upended my life. His last portrait is an intimate reminder of our final weeks together. Now it's up for auction and I want it more than anything. When a cold-mannered man in a dark suit outbids me, I'll agree to anything to buy it from him--even a weekend in his bed.
Tina’s Quick Bite
OMG! Vanessa! You surprised me with this one! It was hot, is was wonderfully intense, and I want mooooaaar of these guys!
The sad, lonely, beautiful muse meets the man who is more than perfect for him and a dark and erotic tale of grief and healing begins, it’s gritty and sexy and full of raw emotion.
I enjoy reading kink and The Dark Collector was simply breathtaking! I fell instantly for Oliver and Henry, the characters are well developed and left me wanting more. The writing… well, the writing is spectacular, as always when Vanessa North is the author. I was so engrossed in this that I didn’t want it to end. It’s hard to believe so much could be said in a short story and I would love to see more of Henry and Oliver. Pretty please, Vanessa?
Definitely recommended as a quick fix of kink lovers.

Mark of the Gladiator by Hiedi Belleau & Violetta Vane
Rating ~ 4 Stars
After an inconvenient display of mercy in the arena, the gladiator Anazâr is pulled from the sands and contracted to nobleman Lucius Marianus to train his new stable of female gladiators. His new charges are demoralized and untested, and they bear the marks of slavery and abuse. Anazâr has a scant four months to prepare them for the arena, and his new master demands perfection.
Anazâr’s surprised by how eager he is to achieve it—far more eager than a man motivated by only self-preservation. Perhaps it’s because Marianus is truly remarkable: handsome, dignified, honorable, and seemingly as attracted to Anazâr as Anazâr is to him.
But the rivalry between Marianus and his brother, Felix, sparks a murder conspiracy, with Anazâr and his gladiatrices caught in the middle. One brother might offer salvation . . . but which? And in a world where life is worth less than the pleasures of the crowd or the whims of a master, can there be any room for love? As a gladiator, Anazâr's defenses are near impenetrable. But as a man, he learns to his cost that no armor or shield can truly protect his heart.
This title is part of the Warriors of Rome collection.
Mark’s Quick Bite
Back to Rome with a romp. I was at first a little sceptical about this book, but pleased to say that I was proved totally wrong. A great read that transports you right back to Rome in all it's glory, debauchery and thirst for blood. I liked the idea of the gender angle with this book. Gay male gladiator training female gladiators to fight. This is handled well and made totally believable. The writing style transports any reader right back to Rome with all its might and grandness, but also its seediness and depravity.
