The Curtis Reincarnation by Zathyn Priest

71Vlt9DAY L._SL1425_

Rating ~ 5 Stars

Synopsis

Can Jordan stop Tyler's life from spinning out of control and save their love for one another, or will tragedy tear them apart?
Tyler Curtis is a rock star with a notorious reputation as legendary as his awesome talent, but reality is far different to the myth a controlling manager has built up around him. Jordan Braxton is a website designer, prefers a quiet life, and is ready to settle down with one man. A chance meeting with Curtis turns Jordan's ordered world upside down. Can Jordan stop Tyler's life from spinning out of control and save their love for one another, or will tragedy tear them apart?

Macky’s Quick Bite

Rock star meets "Mr Ordinary" and they fall in love...instantly! Yep, this is one of the quickest cases of inst-love I've come across in m/m but you know what? I was like "who cares!" Because I absolutely loved it. You might think you know where the story is going to go but don't get complacent because this plot twists and turns and goes in directions you won't be expecting. Alec/ Tyler Curtis and Jordan are adorable together and I thought their relationship was magic. Dramatic, over the top at times, sexy, funny, witty but with moments that are quite sad, tender and poignant...this is full of vivid, multi layered characters who I guarantee you'll both love and (for very specific reasons) hate.

You just have to discover its delights by yourself...be prepared for the odd "hmmm" moment but at the same time just sit back, go with the flow and you'll find yourself being seduced by the sheer enjoyment of it all. This was the first book I ever read by Mr Priest and it was because of it that I then went on a search for any book of his I could find and when I found them all I had a back to back Zathyn marathon and adored every one I read! I also discovered that you can't pigeonhole his books because they're so diverse and that's what I love!

Seducing Professor Coyle by Darien Cox

18284164

Rating ~ 5 Stars

Synopsis

College senior Ben LeClair has always been driven to perfection, so when a grade mix-up threatens to keep him from graduating, he confronts the problem head on. But when he meets with his handsome professor, he finds him to be arrogant and unyielding, and their argument leaves him furious. But during a chance social engagement over the weekend, he spies his teacher involved in a shocking display of debauchery. Suddenly, Ben’s feelings for his teacher take an extreme turn, and now his inherent determination is channeled in a new direction: Seducing Professor Coyle.

Tina’s Quick Bites

A well developed story about a student who falls in love with his professor. I loved Ben in all his determination and brattiness and I really liked dominant Peter. He wants to stay away so badly, but of course he is doomed to failure.

After reading a few more or less disappointing BDSM novels I loved Darien’s style in writing a sexual dominant. I don’t want to spoil anything but let me put it this way: Without ever using a whip/flogger or any other toy Peter has got more dominance in his pinkie than other Doms in their whole dungeon. Just saying…

The story is sexy, hot, sweet, and well balanced. So if you are looking for a little read with likable characters and a sexy dominant professor, this might be the right book for you. If you aren’t into BDSM, don’t worry, the D/s aspect is very mild, more like a whisper but brilliantly done.

Loving Luki Vasquez (Vasquez & James #1) by Lou Sylvre

11441815

Rating ~ 4.5 Stars

Synopsis

Reclusive weaver Sonny Bly James controls every color and shape in his tapestries, but he can’t control the pattern of his life—a random encounter with Luki Vasquez, ex-ATF agent and all-around badass, makes that perfectly clear. The mutual attraction is immediate, but love-shy Sonny has retreated from life, and Luki wears his visible and not-so-visible scars like armor. Neither can bare his soul with ease.
While they run from desire, they can’t hide from the evil that hunts them. After it becomes clear that a violent stalker has targeted Sonny, Luki’s protective instincts won’t let him run far, especially when Sonny’s family is targeted as well. Whether they can forgive or forget, Sonny and Luki will have to call a truce and work together to save Sonny’s nephew and fight an enemy intent on making sure loving Luki Vasquez is the last mistake Sonny will ever make.

Monique’s Quick Bite

Friday see’s the release of the fifth book in the Vasquez and James series, Because of Jade. Reading it has reminded me just why I love Luki and Sonny so much. Combine that with the very poignant and beautiful style of writing from Lou Sylvre and this series has undoubtedly been a winner for me.

Over the series I have grown with these men, having been side by side with my boys as life has thrown every trauma possible at them. They are both now very different characters to the two lonely and insular men, the lost souls who in the beginning take tentative steps into a world of emotional turmoil and a chance on love, a feeling that was unfamiliar to both of them. This series has been an emotional rollercoaster, which has made me laugh, cry, get incredibly angry and frustrated, with plenty of action to keep the intrigue and mystery going, and I have loved every minute of it!

Brothers of the Wild North Sea by Harper Fox

17433996

Rating ~ 5 Stars

Synopsis

His deadliest enemy will become his heart’s desire.
Caius doesn’t feel like much of a Christian. He loves his life of learning as a monk in the far-flung stronghold of Fara, but the hot warrior blood of his chieftain father flows in his veins. Heat soothed only in the arms of his sweet-natured friend and lover, Leof.
When Leof is killed during a Viking raid, Cai’s grieving heart thirsts for vengeance—and he has his chance with Fenrir, a wounded young Viking warrior left for dead. But instead of reaching for a weapon, Cai finds himself defying his abbot’s orders and using his healing skills to save Fen’s life.
At first, Fen repays Cai’s kindness by attacking every Christian within reach. But as time passes, Cai’s persistent goodness touches his heart. And Cai, who had thought he would never love again, feels the stirring of a profound new attraction.
Yet old loyalties call Fen back to his tribe and a relentless quest to find the ancient secret of Fara—a powerful talisman that could render the Vikings indestructible, and tear the two lovers’ bonds beyond healing.
Warning: contains battles, bloodshed, explicit M/M sex, and the proper Latin term for what lies beneath those cassocks.

Mark’s Quick Bite

It's a tall enough order to write a convincing historical novel, but add an m/m romance on top and the task could be seen as a highly risky undertaking..……. I'm delighted to say that Harper Fox has managed this incredibly well and made for a compelling and beautiful read.

The historical aspect of this book is very well written and Harper has obviously done a lot of research on this time and era to give the reader an authentic feeling. This is a must for historical novels. Combine this with her strong lyrical writing and once again the reader is swept off to another time and place. I did feel however that when writing about the fighting and the raids it could have been a little more gutsy and had a little more substance, but this is only a very small criticism for a wonderfully written book. Her descriptions are vivid and as soon as I started reading my mind drifted off to the Holy Island of Lindasfarne (Fara) off the coast of Northumbria in the UK. A magical place steeped in history and rooted to its very core in early Christianity.
