As M/M Reviewers, between us we have read thousands of m/m romance novels over the years and we would like to share our favourites with you, those reads that have been 4+ stars for us. So every Monday we will be bringing you our Quick Bites, short reviews of our recommended reads.
There are so many AMAZING books in this genre to tempt you with and we have four more the whet your appetites today… sheer coincidence that both Mark and Tina picked Josh Lanyon this week, which goes to show that he is definitely an author that you MUST have on your reading list. Macky picked Tom Webb an author that we all know and love, and my choice was a very delightful and pleasant surprise from Lynda Aicher an M/F author, who more than delivered a fabulous M/M read.

Don’t Look Back by Josh Lanyon
Rating ~ 5 Stars
He was chuckling, a deep, sexy sound as he pushed Peter back on the satiny cushions. Was this for real? Was he going to go through with it? Peter blinked up as his tie was unfastened, tossed aside, his shirt unbuttoned, laid wide. The evening breeze -- scented of smog and jasmine -- felt cool against his overheated skin, like the lightest breath...
Peter Killian, curator at Constantine House in Los Angeles, wakes in the hospital to find himself accused of stealing a tenth century Chinese sculpture. Peter knows he’s not a thief -- but that’s all he knows. Why is hot and handsome Detective Mike Griffin so sure he’s guilty -- and so hell-bent on seeing Peter arrested?
And why is Peter having these weird dreams about an unseen lover who somehow reminds him uncomfortably of Michael Griffin?
Tina’s Quick Bite
Don’t look Back is a typical Josh Lanyon novel: it provides mystery, danger, drama and sexual tension well mixed together into a divine cocktail. It’s exciting, sensual, gripping, and highly entertaining.
The reader is left in a fog about certain events, the amnesia device used in this novel is very cleverly done. It would be a crime to reveal too much about the storyline because there is no way to discuss the characters or what happens that would come close to matching the thrill of watching how things unfold.
Definitely a very intense and angsty read that kept me on the edge of my seat. So lean back and enjoy!

Macky’s Quick Bite
His name was Harvey Mansfield. He was the one who brought the three of us together in the first place…
This might be short in length but it’s big in heart and huge in its emotional impact. Beautifully written, this bittersweet, poignant story is about lapsed friendships, regrets, hidden feelings, new beginnings and finding love in the last place you'd think possible.... out of the ashes of loss.
I cried unashamedly on more or less every page but was still left feeling warm, contented and hopeful. The love scenes were some of the most emotional, heartfelt ones I can say I've ever read and even though I guess you would class the ending as HFN, it still felt like a HEA to me. Coming In at 561 locations on my kindle, I was more emotionally connected to the characters in this than I have been in books three or four times its length. Mr Webb never fails to deliver, I devour everything he writes and this is proof that great things come in small packages!

Mark’s Quick Bite
I really liked this book and it was my first read from Josh Lanyon and definitely won't be my last now. What I loved about this book was the antagonistic nature of the relationship between Tucker and Mills. A good thing was that the main story line / thriller aspect was not sacrificed or used as a vehicle for copious amounts of sex, the sex was there just in the right amount, written realistically and adding to the overall effect. The crime story was enthralling and I was kept in suspenders until the end.
Bonds of Denial (Wicked Play #5) by Lynda Aicher
Rating ~ 4.5 Stars
Book five of Wicked Play
It's been twenty years since Rockford Fielding's father punished him for kissing another boy. Now a grown man with a military career behind him, Rock continues to deny his true desires, even while working security at The Den, the most decadent sex club in town. But after a year of watching gorgeous Carter Montgomery come and go on the arms of other men, Rock can no longer resist the cravings he's denied for so long.
Carter has just four months left on his contract with an escort agency, and he doesn't know whether to feel relieved or afraid. Being an escort is all he knows. Adding to his confusion is the way his latest client, the sexy but stoic Rock, makes him feel things he hasn't wanted in years.
One charmingly awkward date turns into two and soon the men are meeting off the clock. But with Rock in the closet and Carter unsure how to pursue a real relationship, how can they build a future both in and out of the bedroom?
Monique’s Quick Bite
Carter is a sophisticated, charming, gorgeous god of a man who’s profession leaves him hiding the true Carter locked deep inside… Rock, and the man IS ALL ROCK! …is ex military and as an army brat has spent his life in training to be a soldier. Guilt ridden, ashamed and unable to face the fact he is gay, he has spent his entire life denying himself of the simple pleasure of love and affection… that was until Carter!
The main focus of this book is our two MC’s and their slow dance and exploration of something far deeper than either of them had ever experienced. It’s not an angst filled drama, it’s more about them building on that ‘something’ between them, neither understands, learning to trust someone other than themselves and help each other to crawl out of the loneliness of their solitary existences.
This book is part of The Wicked Pleasures BDSM series and the other books have been M/F M/M/F, which I haven’t read… Bonds of Denial has no BDSM, and in my opinion, as a standalone M/M novel this definitely works… and I LOVED IT!!!
