Bound: Forget Me Knot by H.B. Pattskyn

Synopsis

Jason Kennly needs to get a closer look when he spots a gray leather collar from across the dealers’ room at a science fiction convention, even if there’s no way he can afford it on his college student budget. After all, looking is free. But then he spots something he wants even more than the collar: leather booth owner Henry Durand, who insists Jason try it on. When Henry asks Jason to be his model at a bondage demo, Jason agrees despite his lack of experience as a sub and ends up spending a no-strings-attached weekend exploring his kinky side with a virtual stranger.
Then the con is over, Jason and Henry go their separate ways, and it’s back to real life. Coming to terms with his identity as a submissive and masochist isn’t easy for Jason. Suddenly he has to face fear, doubt, and a best friend who’ll do anything to get him away from “that creep” and back together with the ex-boyfriend who ignored him. All Jason wants is to be with Henry, but what if that means becoming his slave?

Monique’s Quick Bite

A chance encounter over a grey leather collar, unleashes Jason's inner submissive... taking him to places he had only dared visit in a fantasy and the result... a beautifully narrated May/December BDSM Romance LOVED IT!!

This was my first book by Ms Pattskyn, and one I thoroughly enjoyed... It is told completely from Jason's point of view and how wonderful it was to be privy to the inner musings of this boy, confused by the sexual awakening of his subservient nature. Both Jason and Henry are such well developed characters with very clear voices and distinct personalities. All my motherly instincts engaged with Jason, I wanted nothing more than to delve into the pages, wrap him in my arms and smother him with hugs and kisses, whereas Henry our experienced Dom at 40 years old was all powerful, his voice and words alone seductive... Hell, I wanted to get down on my knees and kiss his feet!

This is not hard core BDSM even though the play is pretty intense it is not humiliating or gross in any way, but it certainly hit all my kink buttons!!!

Tattoos & Teacups by Anna Martin

Rating ~ 4 Stars

Synopsis

As a teenager, Robert McKinnon left his native Scotland and moved to America. That was sixteen years ago, and Professor McKinnon has never quite settled in his new home or found his place this side of the pond. He might be prematurely old, but he has his cat, and his books, and that's all he needs.

Then Chris Ford explodes into Robert's life with a crash of cymbals. The younger man is the polar opposite of Robert's calm civility. Bright tattoos cover his skin, and he wears his hair in a Mohawk and plays drums for a rock band. But he's a shot of color in Robert's black-and-white world, and Robert turns out to be the one thing Chris can count on. Despite all the reasons it shouldn't work, somehow it does.

Even if Robert wasn't looking for love?especially not with someone nearly ten years his junior?he can't deny being with Chris is fun. But sometimes Chris's free-spirited nature leaves Robert feeling vulnerable. If they can't find a balance between tattoos and teacups, their relationship won't survive?and neither will Robert's newfound lust for life.

Tina’s Quick Bite

First of all... I love the cover. It's a wonderfully designed eye catcher.

After reading the blurb I was wondering what these two men have in common and what could attract one to the other. But the relationship between them develops very naturally and sweet. It's really lovely to see the way it slowly goes from dating to a committed relationship, how Chris and Robert change each other and make each other's life complete.

There is no unnecessary drama. It's a romance with adorable characters and it's refreshing to read something so real and drama free for a change. It's blended with the right dose of humor and the supporting characters are funny. The kids... omg... the kids are a nice addition. The scenes with Chloe and Cassie are so beautifully written. Loved them! …and the house hunting part,  just cracked me up!

"Uncle Chris is gay," Cassie tells the realtor with relish ... "That means he doesn’t like girls. He likes boys instead. My mommy says that's okay, though. You can like whoever you want to like ..... So when I grow up, I’m going to marry a penguin"

Well done, Anna Martin!

The Vanguard by T.A. Chase

91MCidv0-EL._SL1500_

Rating ~ 5 Stars

Synopsis

Prince Rathian is the Imperator-or Supreme Commander of the Vanguard, the most elite unit in the Launioc army. His men fight not only for their country and Prince, but they fight for each other. Launioc’s King sends the army into war against Villious and their Queen. As his men die, Rathian’s heart breaks and he longs to find the one person to help him survive the war and the loss of his men.
Stakel is a Queen’s Consort and is abandoned by his fellow Consorts during a battle with the Vanguard. Taken prisoner, he finds himself learning about the enemy he’d been taught to hate. Stakel has been forced to do things he hated and fight for a ruler he owes no loyalty. In Rathian, Stakel finds not only a ruler, but a lover to whom he can give all of himself.
Contains: M/M sexual practices and voyeurism.

Macky’s Quick Bite

This works equally well as a fantasy and a m/m romance, in fact the fantasy side is surprisingly well written and intriguing. There's a lot of steamy sex - but its saved by the intensity of the chemistry between Rathian and Stakel who are literally destined to be together. They sizzle in their love scenes and the connection they have is passionate and sensual. The story has all the right elements to make this sort of 'sword and sorcery' story work. There's intrigue, magic, evil queens, princes, priests and demons, gods and of course brave, hunky, warriors worthy of any high fantasy novel.....then throw in the twist of an all gay elite army (The Vanguard ) who fight against evil forces, and its a m/m romance fans dream come true ! I really enjoyed this and have to say well done TA Chase for pulling off what could have quite easily been a camp version of Conan, but actually turns out to be a solid, well plotted fantasy that holds the attention from start to finish. Deserves its 5 Stars. Loved it!

Downtime by Tamara Allen

13600507

Rating ~ 5 Stars

Synopsis

On assignment in London, FBI Agent Morgan Nash finds himself moments away from a bullet through the heart when the case he's working goes awry. But fate has other plans, he discovers when he wakes in a world far removed from his own.
At work cataloguing ancient manuscripts in the British Museum, Ezra Glacenbie inadvertently creates the magic that pulls Morgan out of the twenty-first century and into the nineteenth. It's an impromptu vacation which may become permanent when the spellbook goes missing. Further upsetting Morgan's search for a way home is the irresistible temptation to investigate the most notorious crime of the nineteenth century. But it's the unexpected romance blossoming between Morgan and Ezra that becomes the most dangerous complication of all.

Mark’s Quick Bite

This book contained everything that I love; intrigue, mystery and suspense, historical, supernatural and a sweet romance. It's so difficult to write a review on such a intricate and multi-faceted story, but Tamara combines all the points with breath-taking talent.

This book left me bubbling with tears of joy at Morgan's and Ezra's reunion which was beautifully written. As I said this book is so multi-layered it makes it almost impossible to write a fitting review. All I can say is that this book is a keeper and will stay with me a long time.
