3 “Biker Romeo & Juliette” Stars!
“You're a modern day fucking Romeo and Juliet. Yeah. I know about that shit. I'm a biker, not a dumbass.” ~ Ryder Knox
Two Worlds Colliding is book one in Jani Kay’s new biker series, Scorpions MC. I would recommend reading the short prequel, Ryder (Scorpions MC, #0.5), prior to diving into this book as it provides a more in-depth look into the hero and heroine’s backgrounds. A modern day Romeo and Juliette tale told in the biker world. Can a rough and gritty biker and a high society princess make it work or is there simply too much standing in the way to stop their two worlds from disastrously colliding?
Jade Summers leads a relatively charmed life as the daughter of a successful lawyer and as an up and coming lawyer herself. She is not one to go out partying with friends and would rather spend her free time immersed in a romance novel happily dreaming of her very own prince charming. Jade is absolutely certain that she wants a polished and refined man who will sweep her off her feet making her the center of his universe. Therefore, when one of her father’s protégés begins pursuing her, Jade finally sees her future all mapped out for her. That is until reality sets in and she discovers that looks can be deceiving. What Jade least expects is being rescued by the sexy and dangerous biker who she has been unable to get out of her system – a man so far from what she thought she wanted. All her life Jade has played it safe and boring happily going along with her family’s expectations for her. Now, she wants to break free from that mold and take a chance on a biker who makes her blood sing. Can she go against her straight-laced parents and her cop brother who has a vendetta of his own against bikers?
"How bad do you want this bitch?"
"Bad. Give both my balls bad."
"Christ, you're fucked."
"Yeah, I know."
Ryder Knox is as moody and stoic as they come as the vice president of the Scorpions MC. He has led a rough life landing him in juvie when he was younger. If it were not for the Malone brothers (the Scorpions MC president and his brother) he is unsure where he would have ended up. Ryder lives his life for the club and his biker family. His loyalty for the Scorpions MC above all else. When Jade comes into Ryder’s life, at first he is puzzled by his undeniable attraction to the haughty princess who surely has had everything handed to her all her charmed life. Ryder is unable to stay away from the beautiful blonde who has him “cunt struck”. As their sizzling chemistry turns into something more profound, Ryder is left having to make a decision. His biker family or taking a shot at his own chance at a happy forever?
Ryder and Jade have a lot going against them and it would simply be easier to walk away from one another. But nothing is simple when it comes to matters of the heart. Now that they both have had a taste of one another and discovered how wonderful things can truly be, can they really walk away from each other? Can their love survive all the odds stacked up against them? Their bond was so much more than the animalistic and primal lust they felt for each other. Jade had finally found a man who made her feel whole, like she was loved and wanted. Ryder had finally found the one woman who would love and accept him for who he is, demons and all. Surely that was worth the fight?
All in all, Two Worlds Colliding was an enjoyable read but I do admit that I struggled with the writing style a bit. There were moments where things felt a little rushed or too easily resolved. It is one of those books that I liked reading but definitely did not stand out as spectacular. While Ryder and Jade do end things on a happy note, their story is far from over. Their worlds have drastically collided and I am sure there are a lot more interferences coming their way in the next book. Book two in this series is due out July 1st, 2014 and is titled Unchain My Heart.
“For as long as we loved one another, we could win this battle. Our worlds collided, but we had overcome our differences so that we were now one.
Together. I’d be his, and he’d be mine.
Besides reading, her favorite 'thing' is traveling - she has traveled the world, learning about the ways people live and has come to the realization that no matter where we live, we all ultimately want the same things. Her hobby - Scrapbooking - keeps her up till way after midnight and her usual subjects are her family and her travels.
Ever since she can remember, Jani wanted to write stories about people, about their lives and loves. Relationships and Happiness - arguably the most difficult things to master in life and yet exactly what everyone ultimately desires (in her humble opinion).
