Synopsis

The year is 1987. The boys wear pink Izod shirts, the girls wear big hair, everyone has a stash box, and AIDS is just an ugly rumor rumbling like a thunderstorm from the cities. A teenage runaway wanders the side of the road, a heartbeat away from despair, and is rescued by a long-haired angel on a Harley. But that's just the beginning of their story. Josiah Daniels wanted peace and quiet and a simple life, and he had it until he rescued Casey from hunger, cold, and exhaustion. Suddenly Joe's life is anything but simple as he and his new charge navigate a world that is changing more rapidly than the people in it. Joe wants to raise Casey to a happy and productive adulthood, and he does. But even as an adult, Casey can't conceive of a happy life without Joe. The trouble is getting Joe to accept that the boy he nurtured is suddenly the man who wants him. Their relationship can either die or change with the world around them. As they make a home, negotiate the new rules of growing up, and swerve around the pitfalls of modern life, Casey learns that adulthood is more than sex, Joe learns that there is no compromise in happy ever after, and they're both forced to realize that the one thing a man shouldn't be is alone

Macky’s Quick Bite

When I am feeling jaded with what's going on around me I will just pick up this book to renew my faith in human nature. I like to think that Amy based this on people she knew and that 'Joe and Casey' are out there , still soul mates, still so very much in love and still saving their "strays".

I laughed and cried and adored every single word in this novel.

"...life with Casey would tend to be that way for Joe - moments of gorgeous, shining faith and moments of agonizing, painful doubt. Joe was young in his way too. It would take him years before he recognised the ebb and flow of true love "

" Joe just sat there, still caught, not sure what to do with this sight of Casey as an adult, and beautiful, making his blood sing under his skin, making him shiver, making him ache, just by smiling in the sun "

Simply .......... Beautiful!

Synopsis

John McCann, a man who judges life by the tally of an accounts ledger, has a supreme goal in life: To achieve, live, and enjoy the rarified executive lifestyle. But he's encountered one problem:
The migraines are going to continue to get worse unless you make some major changes in your lifestyle. What you need is a 'sea change'... Perhaps buy a nice little business in the country, settle down, something easier to occupy your time...

While John knows the doctor is right, he just can't resign from the job he's fought so hard for. He decides the sacrifice of taking a year's leave of absence won't interfere too much with his plans, and so he finds himself running Margins, a cozy little bookstore, with the help of the former owner's son, Jamie.  John expects to put in his year, get his stress under control, and then get back to business.
What John doesn't expect is how Margins and its denizens draw him in, particularly the quiet, disheveled man who takes refuge in the old leather chair in the second-hand book section. John's plans for an unattached year of simple business crumble when he meets David and is forced to reevaluate life, love and what he really wants from both. John and David are forced to come to terms with their pasts as they struggle to determine what possible future they might build together.

Mark’s Quick Bite

Left absolutely breathless!! A divine and tender story that really tears at the heart strings. My tissue consumption has increased rapidly whilst reading this book. I couldn't believe a book that basically revolves around three main characters could grip my attention so much and not let go. This book is written with such an incredible depth of understanding, empathy and feeling from the author that it just draws the reader right in. If you haven't read this book yet then you have definitely missed a true literary gem.

Synopsis

When Roman politician Caelius inherits a stable of gladiators, there is one who captures his attention above the others...one whose eyes gleam with hate, pride and desire.
Forced into slavery by Roman greed, Gaidres can barely conceal his contempt toward his new Dominus. Gaidres has a plan: kill Caelius and end the lineage of the Roman family that enslaved him. For his plan to succeed, he must make a show of respect and obedience--even when called on to service his master's desires.
Gaidres is shocked to learn that in the confines of his quarters, Caelius doesn't want to dominate his slave, but to be taken by him. The sex is explosive as they break society's taboos and, to Gaidres's dismay, they form a tenuous relationship. Even when Caelius learns of Gaidres's plans for revenge, he knows he can't live without his perfect lover. Is he willing to risk it all to tame his gladiator's heart?

Monique’s Quick Bite

If you pick up a book and cannot put it down until finished, you know you are onto a good thing...and this is not a short read! If you like m/m romance...that gets your heart pounding, hands sweating, leaves you holding your breath for so long you are in danger of suffering from hypoxia....where you experience such depths of emotion that you are sure your chest will explode with the sadness of it all and your head will come off with anger and frustration, then this is the book for you.

The two main characters in this book are at opposite ends of the scale both socially and emotionally. Gaidres is strong and sexy with a hard body and rippling muscles… he is also a sensual predator with dark passions who is bitter and wants nothing but revenge, the world to him is full of hate and anger. Whereas Caelius is a visionary who is both tender and compassionate, with great character and responsibility, he sees a world full of peace where men are free and happy.

This book builds in intensity, it has action, suspense, romance which is sensual, full of passion and desire and is fraught with conflicting emotions. Together they are awe-inspiring... it’s just beautiful to watch and HOT as HELL! And lets be honest here, who doesn’t love half naked gladiators!!!

Synopsis

Is there room for love in a heart full of secrets?

One year ago, before Fate took a wrecking ball to his life, Nichol was happily working on his doctorate in linguistics. Now he’s hip deep in sheep, mud and collies. His late brother and mother had been well suited to life on Seacliff Farm. Nichol? Not so much.

As lambing season progresses in the teeth of an icy north wind, the last straw is the intruder Nichol catches in the barn. He says his name is Cam, and he’s on the run from a Glasgow gang. Something about the young man’s tired resignation touches Nichol deeply, and instead of giving him the business end of a shotgun, he offers Cam a blanket and a place to stay.

Somehow, Cam quickly charms his way through Nichol’s defenses and into his heart. Even his grandfather takes to the cheeky city boy, whose hard work and good head for figures help set the farm back on its feet.

As the cold Scottish springtime melts into summer, Nichol finds himself falling in love. When tragedy strikes, Cam’s resolutely held secret is finally revealed and Nichol must face the truth. He’s given his heart away, and it’s time to pay the price.

Warning: Contains explicit M/M sex and the disruption of a quiet Scottish town by a fistfight and some tight designer jeans.

Tina’s Quick Bite

What a gorgeous outstanding book, poetic, lyrical and instantly engaging.

The first pages are brutal. I felt the cold, harsh wind, saw the inhospitable god forsaken area, cried with Nichol about his missing cat Clove and wanted nothing more than to save him, take him in my arms and keep him warm. But with Cam's arrival Nic's desperation seems to vanish like the cold winter and seeing the island with Cam's wondering eyes I began to love Seacliff and the rugged beauty of the island…

Cam and Nic are too cute together. The love between them blossoms slowly and steadily. Their story is so achingly beautiful you'll feel your heart yanked out your chest and then gently, lovingly placed back again.

Harper Fox is a gifted and skilled author who amazes with her ability to transport her readers into another world and delight them with her poetry. I can't recommend this book enough.
