Part 3 of Deceptive Innocence—the thid book in the sensual, thrilling Pure Sin trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Kyra Davis (Just One Night). A beautiful young woman is out for revenge—only to find the man she’s targeting has secrets as dangerous as her own, and a passion she cannot resist.
Ever since her mother died while serving time for a murder she didn’t commit, Bellhas been focused on one thing: revenge. She knows her mother was set up by the head of the powerful Gable family, international bankers who will crush anyone for profit, or amusement. Now she’s determined to take the Gables down—from the inside.
Seducing her way into the life—and bed—of the family's rebellious youngest son, Lander, she figures it should be easy to uncover the secrets she needs to destroy the Gables. But Lander turns out to be much more complicated than Bell ever could have imagined. He’s enticing, intelligent, mysterious—and their sexual chemistry is off the charts. Lander is still the target, but when he touches her, he starts seeming much less like an enemy…
Which is why her anger is so necessary: memories of her mother must help fuel her quest for justice to the very end.
Oh! What a tangled web we weave
When first we practice to deceive!

Reviewer’s Note: It is essential to read parts one and two before embarking on this to understand the story.
Part Three of this intriguing trilogy plunges us straight back in where we left off at the end of part two. Fear is chipping away at Bell’s armour and for the first time in years she’s beginning to feel the need for human contact and she instinctively seeks out Lander for this – one of the men she has vowed to bring down in her quest for vengeance. As a girl once ruled by anger, she now finds herself allowing in other emotions - - namely fear and lust.
BUT, she’s playing with the big boys now and her plan for vengeance is spiralling rapidly out of control to the point where she hardly recognises it and it’s become over-complicated by new players entering the game uninvited. This plan of hers is morphing into a massive power-play – she’s intent on undoing men who are intent on undoing each other and the plot thickens exponentially in this one and only we the readers have a true sight of what is going on. Deception is EVERYWHERE!
I did really enjoy this – no one is behaving well here, they’re all deliciously evil in their own way. Bell and Lander’s physical and emotional connection increases tenfold in this one even though they still don’t really trust one another but they can’t deny what is growing between them. They have such a lot in common, both are shaped by heartbreak and rage and I so wanted them to be honest with each other but there’s so much at stake here.
I can truly say that I had absolutely no idea how this was all going to end – there’s really no heroes or heroines here, only villains but I still found myself rooting for Bell and Lander. I did really enjoy this but the ending is a little abrupt and did leave me unsatisfied and feeling like there was more I needed to know. There’s no epilogue and so much more yet to play out that I can only assume that Kyra Davis intends to expand on this trilogy and continue with their story. It’s definitely much more of an erotic thriller than a classic erotic romance and I really did enjoy this twisty, sexy story told, as always, in Kyra Davis’ inimitable style
